I was looking for a tablet for my little nephew to join daily online class. While most of the deals around (Costco, BestBuy, ... ) are of similar prices, Samsung website is running the same price but throwing in a free keyboard cover ($50).

If you get one, be sure to get the 64GB or 128GB that has 3GB RAM, vs the 32GB has only 2GB RAM.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I snagged this for $150 on Amazon for the 128GB model in November of '19 when they had the Discover card offer. I've been pretty happy with it for browsing, video playback, and a few tap tap games.

This is a good tablet if you're needing Android. I have had one for years and it's still going strong but got it a lot cheaper.

Don't know about the keyboard at all. It's a solid tablet though. This price isn't bad, but it's pretty much the normal price. It is occasionally available for less.

If you are trying to find something for a kid to interact with online school, I'd look into a chromebook. $200 will get you a solid keyboard and all you need to interact with google classroom or other learning platform.

Yup. I got the same one. I got the 128gb one cause it only costed $50 extra and with the hardware updates, the 32gb quickly fills up. Some applications on this cant be DL on the SD Card and can only be DLed on the main hard drive. The 32gb just isnt enough. Go 128GB.

personally i'd get the fire hd10 and any bt keyboard,
which may cost half as much as this on a good sale.
my brother does this, and so far the only issue he's
found is without hdmi - he can only cast to fire stick.

I have the Fire 10 2017 and it's been the worst tablet I have owned. I haven't updated it since I got it and rooted it so there is that. The wifi is terrible and Youtube drops all of the time. I've tried a static IP as some have stated it works better but not for me. The battery will go from 100% and die within several hours. I've found that some of the Amazon apps were causing this and even after I removed them it still dies. I have to have it constantly plugged in.

At this price, I would also go for a Chromebook. More versatile and you can install Android apps, if needed.

I bought one last year when all the sales were going on... Not impressed at all. Very sluggish. Might as well get a Fire HD10 for way less if you want sluggish LOL... I actually thought my OG Fire 10 was faster... Weird. Oh and Fire HD 10 has dual speakers instead of just one like the Samsung...

I returned mine and caught the deal Galaxy Tab S4. Light years better performance and sound than these jokes of a tablet.

For $249 I would get an iPad, and spend some more money on a Bluetooth keyboard separately

You should update it. Mine still lasts forever and WiFi is solid. It's just slow if you do much of anything. Still good for media consumption.

I agree, unless you just prefer Android or are deeply invested in Google's ecosystem.
