My stupid German Shepard/Rottie mix runs through the screen at least once a summer, and my drunk ass is good for about half that. For 20 bucks it's easier than resplining it. In for 2 of the cheapos.

I came across this sale a few days ago as I happened to be searching for doors. I bought three steel and one "heavy duty" aluminum. I've installed one of each. They work differently that the ones being replaced. The individual wheels aren't spring loaded..there's a spring loaded channel to which the wheels attach. Installation was simple...set into the grooves/channels. Hold door closed and tighten two lower screws that allow spring loaded channel /wheels to float. So secure the lower channel but allow the upper channel to float. Door works nice. Probably the biggest negative to these doors is the seal on the rear of the door. It's a bit stiff. it comes long for you to trim to size. Realistically it's working fine.
The aluminum version has a pretty slender handle that you poke with your finger to unlatch/open/close. It's larger on the steel version. The aluminum version is stiffer I suppose but I'm not sure what benefit that adds. When we close the door we still have to be somewhat gentle...you can't push it outward much as you slide it closed or it will flex too much and not go into the channel in the door jam. Not a big deal. Overall we're happy with the doors.

My Staffie ran into the screen door and bent the entire aluminum frame, but the screen mesh didn't tear. In for 2.

Ahh my screen is 83" by 33"... i need to replace wheels on it at least but cant find them anywhere. Dont see any model nr or anything to look by it. Anyone knows of a site that have a good stock of the rollers? I bought some already but none fit...

My feedback is that the $30 one is really cheap and flimsy so replacing the one I have is a swap as the one i have is just as flimsy. It is adjustable btw.



I assume the sturdy one is the other $50 aluminum one. I might venture out to pick that one up but its at a store farther out but I might take this step now rather than put in a crappier one now.

I just finished installing the aluminum one. It is sturdy and adjustable. I'm glad I spent the extra money, and I'm a cheap SOB.

It is not giving me the option to pick up. The delivery charge is too much $65. So I went on the local Lowes store website and order it to for pick up and it worked.

Thanks OP bought the aluminum one because it was what was in stock at my local store. I would assume the aluminum is not only more light weight making it easier to glide but also much more rust resistant which works well for me living by the ocean.
