Hard pass on a cloud managed switch. All cloud management network equipment in fact. Cannot point to a particular reason why it just seems like a horrible idea

Site says it's only $20 off and not that great of a switch as I have dealt with them in the past. Better deals to be found elsewhere. Just my 2 cents as a tech with 20 years experience.

I would like a managed switch with POE that can take gigabit connections to my wireless access points and then a 10gbe connection to my server. It can handle DNS and then route all internet traffic through a gateway. Can this do that? Can it route through two gateways for different traffic from different devices? If not, what can for a reasonable price and without monstrously difficult unix command line work?

Pretty lukewarm comments for something marked as "Popular" and getting so many TUs...

Anyone actually think this is an amazing deal?
Anyone own this or one similar and can speak to it? Using at home or for business?

You might need a dual-WAN firewall router. One 10gbe interface and POE+ would be a nice combo, but not to be found at low end. Check out Fortinet and pfSense.

Just pay a little more and go with Unifi switches.

A switch should have multi-gig at this price point.

On the surface without really checking the specs It looked like that's what this device is trying to compete against

Yep, spec sheet puts it in line with the EdgeSwitch 8 from UI. The Unifi switches tend to be more expensive. The UI one it $199, so if this thing is stable/solid, it's a nice 25% cheaper

You clearly have no experience with it. I run all Meraki Gear in my home and home office. Switches, Firewalls, Ap"s. I've had "zero issues"

No I can't speak for Netgear... but cloud is not going away. Better to work it now and learn it now . My two cents

I don't think it's about learning it, can't imagine what is difficult about it... it's about owning what you bought and not having it become useless because a company somewhere stops hosting a website or decides your piece of hardware is EOL now.

Best of all, config broke internet, can't get to internet to fix config.
