I received the following offer from Tracfone below - it seems that they really messed up on their previous offers with so many of us not getting the Airtime on the SIM that they have fixed the issue and lowered the price even further:

They did not send the Airtime card last time. When i contacted them via Ebay, they replied by telling me to contact 1-800 number. Calling the 1-800 number is absolutely the worst. They don't understand English and moreover, they will drop the phone on you. Tracfone has the WORST customer service! The only reason they refunded via Ebay is because Ebay holds the Seller accountable.

You Tracfone newbies need to can it. It's Tracfone. Us 10 year users know the drill. Chancy customer service, but decent over their web site chat. Always take screenshots of existing balances before any service change or contact with them. Yes, these are annual allotments. Since almost every smartphone on their service has wifi, the GB for data is almost irrelevant, and is generally roaming only. 3GB a year is a healthy batch. Only idiots watch movies on TF devices while roaming w/o wifi connection. That's you. Lots of us like having a decent phone (no, not the best $600-$1000 one) with a year service for $100 or less. Adding a year for $30 with minutes/texts/data is a no brainer. TF cr@ppers should just go away. BTW, their chat customer service has been good to excellent for the past 2-3 years. Their call centers used to be the worst. Haven't had to call them in 4-5 years when an LG phone went bad. Avoid their call center. If you can't add something helpful, go away.

For everyone asking this question. A separate Card is no longer being shipped and you have to activate the SIM.

However as a workout around, you can activate this new SIM as an "upgrade" and transfer your existing service from your old SIM to the new SIM and move forward. On precious threads there are instructions of how to do this but NO, this is NOT Airtime only and requires activation.

The Ebay page is asking for a Carrier: TMobile, Verizon, or AT&T.
I thought the carrier was Tracfone? Does it matter which one i choose?

Similar question here. I'd love to extend my 1 year plan to 2 years. Wondering if that would work with this or if I have to swap out the SIMs and get a new number, etc.

I'm sure OP will chime in but looks to me the OP made it a point to specifically state that the airtime is tied to the SIM, so yes you would need to activate the SIM to get the time. I think there are ways to merge accounts and to make it so that you ultimately are able to keep your number and previous time but would probably involve some stressful time on with customer service.
