Looks like a good deal. Both the tools are 70 each in certified pre-owned on Direct Tool Outlet and here they are new.

Just to note, the vibration on this multi tool is out of hand. You really "get what you pay for" with that tool. I have both the kobalt and dewalt multi tools now and they are significantly better than ryobis. I would recommend spending the extra money and getting any other multi tool beside this one. If you want the saw get it for 119 with 2 batteries.
I bought this bundle 10 days ago for $119. The saw definitely is the brushless version - at least is says brushless on it.

Pretty sure that Home Depot made a mistake and that P518 reciprocating saw (in this deal) is NOT brushless like it says -- and that absolutely kills this from being any kind of deal. The motor on that saw looks huge which is counter to all of Ryobi's brushless tools. The P517 is the real brushless version of their reciprocating saw. The P517 is the saw the op talks about being on the Direct Tools Outlet website, but that is NOT the tool in the combo pack he lists!

What model number does it have P518 or P517?

I would have to check that when I get home, but it has the big "BRUSHLESS" label right on it. Unless they're purposefully deceiving people and falsely labeling stuff, I don't know how this wouldn't be the brushless version.

So I found this on Home Depot Q&A.
Quote :
The saw is brushless *but* it is not the same as the brushless model that you might buy in the store. There are two differences:
1) The model in the store (p517) can switch between orbital cutting and straight cutting. The model in this set (P518) only does straight cutting
2) The P517's handle has dampers to isolate your hand from vibration at the top and bottom. the P518 does not isolate at the bottom of the handle, only the top.

Agreed, the multitool is not for any delicate work...

I started out with ryobi with that 6 tool set because i really needed a multi tool and cordless recip saw, and i figures for 150 bucks i get the two tools i want and an extra impact and drill and circ saw. I also liked the idea of the jobplus thing, that I could get more attachments. As soon as i turned on the multi tool and felt it I knew it was cheap for a reason. I figured, whatever I need it anyways so i muscled through it. Then I got the kobalt 6 tool deal for 112 and immedialty tried the multi tool and couldn't believe the difference. I use the multi tool a lot and the kobalt is really nice. I like it better than the dewalt honestly. The ryobi is nice that the blade is so offset from the head, but using it for long periods of time is really annoying. I understand that this price is cheaper than buying the tools individually, but unless you're low on funds and really need a brushless recip saw AND already in the ryobi platform it's not worth it. You can do the battery return thing with the recip saw right now and get the brushless one from HD for ~60 bucks. Yeah it takes a little extra work to add the batteries and tool individually, then immediately cancel one, but you're on SD for a reason right. So in the end you're paying 70 for a crappy multi tool here? Don't waste your money. DTO has had the multi tool CPO for 20 bucks if you really want one, but I wouldn't.

Seems like an okay deal. I have the Kobalt 24V Brushless Multi-tool and Recip. Saw already and use them both a lot, especially the multi-tool. You can buy the add-on blades and such on Amazon pretty cheap. About $1 each if you get the off-brand cheapo attachments in a multi-pack. I wouldn't recommend them for every project, but they're good to have when you know the blade it going to get trashed. For example, I was using a cheapo blade to clean up glue off concrete slab after taking up carpet padding. Not worth using my Dewalt blades on.

Is the Ryobi multi tool really that bad?

I ordered this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../309436136

Should I return it?
