That is why many jurisdictions have adopted laws that require mask use whenever in crowded places, such as public transport or shops. Some jurisdictions go further and require masks whenever out in public.

These steps don't replace the need for social distancing and hand-washing. We need to use the entire set of tools we have in our toolbox to stop this killer.
Price gouging is irrelevant when the suppliers in China have raised their prices. I doubt NewEgg is making $$ off of these, but their suppliers sure are.
A cloth mask is just as good for protecting other people from your droplets if you're sneezing/coughing etc and already infected (asymptomatic or not).

Yeah? Then they should be sending out boxes of masks to every person. USPS mail men should be giving masks to every house if the city wants everyone to wear them ( which I will ). These things cost pennies to make.
Get them in. Give them to the people
Regardless, any mask is still better than NO mask, but sometimes not by much.
