QA Edit: Seems the 50% off appliance part of this deal may have died but users as of today 5/1 still say they're getting the 50% off on open box TVs still. So we will let this thread stay in Hot Deals for another day or so, for users that still can get it.
------------------------

I was shopping around for a new washer/dryer, and picked out a pair by LG. Called in to the store to find out what might be damaged on the washer since you can't go in and see it. The Best Buy website lists the open box price as $695.99. They went over and looked at it, told me about the scuffs, and then mentioned "oh, and the open-box promotion brings it down to $347.99

I bought it, then called the other Best Buy that had the matching dryer, also as open-box. I asked them what was wrong with it, and about the price since "another Best Buy said you're running an open box promotion" and we all know that could be specific to one location or whatnot. The guy on the phone said the price I got the washer for was crazy, he'd never heard of such a thing. He went to explain that open box pricing changes all the time depending on the new item sale prices etc, but he'd ask his manager. He came back and said that there's an additional coupon he has to scan, for 50% off open box major appliances. The Geek Squad extended warranty price is based on the price you pay, not MSRP, so that also goes down in price should you be interested.

Pricing on the website does NOT reflect this promotion. You must call the store so they can scan the coupon, and pay over the phone. My order doesn't show any SKU for a coupon, just the super-low price.

Scored a 55" LG C9 OLED tv for $812(total tax included) out the door! They even had a promo $100 dollar gift card that was thrown in that I didn't even know was being offered! I just called my local store and asked about floor models, no code needed or special sku for the tv's.

TV was listed "satisfactory" condition, they had it all boxed up and ready, no damage whatsoever, looked new. Only thing missing was a piece to the stand, that was all.

Beside you being full of it, you can always get your money back after you see it in person and decide you don't want it
LOL..so you don't think BB sells customer returned appliances. 🤭🤭🤭 You're a fool if you don't think BB, Lowes, Homedepot sell customer returns.

Taken from BB:

Open-Box Satisfactory
Minor to moderate cosmetic signs of use possible
Any signs of use will not impact performance
Nonessential parts or accessories may be missing

How do we go about actually purchasing these? Pay full price online and then call the store in the morning when they open to apply the 50% off? The TV I'm looking at is very limited in supply and I want to make sure I get one

Both tvs I bought I called and had them check if they had the sku in stock, then I would say how about open box? Then they would come back with the inventory and I would ask the price. Do not ask for the 50% off. Satisfactory and lower are usually already marked down. Ask to buy over phone and if they say no ask for them to hold it until you get there.

Why not ask for 50% off? The TV I'm looking at is in excellent condition

I assume display model since thats what I called about but to be honest it may of been a return since they still had the box handy, just missing a piece to the stand. Yakima, Wa. Small world ha

Also just wanted to throw in that I called the Kennewick, Wa store to get their inventory on open-box floor models and the customer rep said they didn't have any OLED's left and the others TV's were either missing a remote, stand, or both. So just lucked out I guess.

Really I called Kennewick and they said they had a 65" LG B9 (satisfactory condition) for $1600.

Haha, I spent an hour on the phone with appliance employee and manager at that south austin store - at the time, they didn't know about the discount. I happened to call back 1.5 hours later and turns out, they looked into it after I called (they called district manager) and were clued in about the discount. I also got a LG washer/dryer pair when I called back (they were holding them for me, in case I called back!).

Also bought a $2k Whirlpool built-in oven for $320 but need to pick this one up in San Antonio.
Well thank you for doing all the leg work! When I pulled up and asked for the open box sale, they sent the appliance manager out and he made the whole experience very simple. Word gets around quick because there were a few other cars loading up on appliances.Smilie

Which stores did you try? Was going to try for a microwave tomorrow.
Microwaves (at least countertops) don't work... at least for a store in the east bay. They told me small appliances aren't eligible. I was able to get a Samsung gas range stove top for a great price though ($225+tax) that is going for about $600 at most major retailers.
