QA Edit: Seems the 50% off appliance part of this deal may have died but users as of today 5/1 still say they're getting the 50% off on open box TVs still. So we will let this thread stay in Hot Deals for another day or so, for users that still can get it.
------------------------

I was shopping around for a new washer/dryer, and picked out a pair by LG. Called in to the store to find out what might be damaged on the washer since you can't go in and see it. The Best Buy website lists the open box price as $695.99. They went over and looked at it, told me about the scuffs, and then mentioned "oh, and the open-box promotion brings it down to $347.99

I bought it, then called the other Best Buy that had the matching dryer, also as open-box. I asked them what was wrong with it, and about the price since "another Best Buy said you're running an open box promotion" and we all know that could be specific to one location or whatnot. The guy on the phone said the price I got the washer for was crazy, he'd never heard of such a thing. He went to explain that open box pricing changes all the time depending on the new item sale prices etc, but he'd ask his manager. He came back and said that there's an additional coupon he has to scan, for 50% off open box major appliances. The Geek Squad extended warranty price is based on the price you pay, not MSRP, so that also goes down in price should you be interested.

Pricing on the website does NOT reflect this promotion. You must call the store so they can scan the coupon, and pay over the phone. My order doesn't show any SKU for a coupon, just the super-low price.

Honestly, in my situation where I wanted to buy an open box gas dryer which most likely someone used and returned it and I wouldn't get to see the actual condition of it until it was paid for and they wheeled it out to the curb, plus I was going to buy the pedestal at the full price of $275 and that is almost all profit plus the extended warranty and that is also very profitable, Best Buy should have been more then happy to extend the sale to everyone or at least rewards members.
Agreed - especially if their intent is to clear the floor for space. You'd think they'd have more incentive to sell to whoever found out about it and first-come first serve versus paper-pushing

Called bestbuy Torrance about open box fridge. They had it, said they can honor the 50% off but starting today they weren't doing over the phone orders. Would have to order online and then call corporate to price correct after order placed. Of course I call corporate (India) and they said there is nothing that can do and to call back store. Store has no idea what to do. Fun!
Sounds like a roundabout way of saying they're not going to do anything about it lol. You can try what someone else suggested and order online, go into pickup but then cancel it and tell them you canceled and want to re-purchase at 50% off while there.

where in NY? All mine are open in western NY
NYC. W NY was hardly hit! It says this on their site: "For the safety of our customers and employees, we're limiting access to our stores.
You can still place an order on BestBuy.com and have it delivered to your home."

Just seems to vary store by store. I'm in the DMV area.

Tried a bunch of best buys with varying degrees of success. Some need you to bring the employee with you, some have to have the employee order, some didn't care as long as you asked about the promotion (and even then, some would do it over the phone before you got there and some wanted you to go there first and ask when you picked up the item).

I'm still debating, but manged to get a 55 inch frame TV with no box, remote, or anything for $580 before taxes and a 55 inch B9 in good condition (listed as satisfactory but store says its in good condition) for $700 before taxes. The weird thing is that the Frame TV was the sale price while the B9 was the retail price.

I am so thankful to OP and the user who posted a picture of the flyer. I called BB and was able to order the fridge that I wanted. The customer service rep only asked for the sku number from the flyer. It's getting delivered in the next hour or so.

Such poorly run promo. Feels like the old 'can do nothing right' BB.

You called the best buy 1800 number or the local BB itself?

I have a offer for a c9. But it's a display and a year old. 12 hours a day. So that's like 4000 hours. Still 1100 bucks.

Just wasted an hour on the phone with Hiram Georgia location. Long series of lies, then finally a thirty minute wait to speak with the general manager who never actually came to the phone, just sent another lackey to say corporate has just changed the policy to employees only.
I'm in that same location... Struck out, any luck in Acworth or Smyrna?

Acworth went looking for the tv, had to call us back and said they couldn't find the one shown in stock when they did. Never got to the applying coupon phase with that location. Please let me know if you are successful anywhere. So disappointed.

I just picked up a 65 Inch LG B9 for $950 and then a $130 2-year GeekSquad warranty. Didn't have to mention the promo - just asked for them to check the condition (listed as satisfactory but the tech said it appeared to be in excellent condition, just missing the remote) and then the in-store price. They then let me purchase it over the phone for pickup.

I'm located in Central Illinois - if that helps anyone.
