Lots of companies are already helping to support coronavirus relief efforts, offering millions in donations or using their resources to make supplies like masks and hand sanitizer. But many brands are now also giving thanks directly to the people putting themselves on the line to fight the pandemic, with special discounts for essential workers.

That means that if you're a medical professional or first responder, you can find savings on a variety of products that might make life a little easier right now. Most discounts can be found on shoes and athletic apparel, which makes sense given that many of these workers are on their feet all day and require comfortable, supportive clothing.

If you want to help, but you're not sure how, there are plenty of companies that put the power in your hands. While you can always donate to local food banks or charities, I've found a few brands that combine giving and shopping by donating proceeds to relief efforts. So whether you need shoes, clothes, a phone cleaner or even a massage gun, consider checking out some of these brands that are helping coronavirus relief efforts.

Most discounts extend to all hospital staff and first responders (including police, firefighters and EMTs). Teachers are eligible for plenty of deals as well, as are some retirees. If you've been involved at all in helping curb the pandemic, it's definitely worth looking into the deals below to see if you qualify for special savings.

Do note that these discounts all require proof of eligibility, either through emailed documentation or verification via a service like ID.me or SheerID. Instructions are included on all the discount pages linked below.

Even if you're not eligible for these discounts, you might want to support these retailers to thank them for providing tangible support to the people on the front lines.

Not everyone, however, believes that two negatives necessarily make a positive.

I think that downvoting this post is a really bad way to say THANK YOU to our FRONTLINE essential workers critical to keeping society functioning, making sure that every one of us is safe, healthy, and has access to all of the resources we need.

"Downvoting prompts a kind of gamification. I don't imagine that users are going to be sensitive to all of the semantics of the things posted in this post and know how to use Vote Up and Down Vote appropriately."

To all first responders and people working on the front line - thank you for your courage, service, and sacrifice. We all owe you big time. 🙏🏻♥️
Thanks for all the effort put into this post! Easy to share to friends who it applies to.
As a healthcare worker we dont know if the person were talking to who is sick is just having a bad cold or the Covid. Its super stressful.

Things like this is where we can go home buy stuff we like and be like "yey some perks!"

Thanks for the companies and to people who dont go "OMG why are they getting discounts and not me!"

Quote from HasRa :
In my opinion this is more of a popularity Trick. After you verify your healthcare provider status you only get minimal change in price. For example the Reebok shoes were on sale a few days ago and a decent one was available for $25 each. Today they are back to full price of $50-$60 and then giving discount of 50%, which makes it back to $25-$30 each. I'm talking about the basic running shoes and not the high-end ones. last week Timberland, Had similar 50% sale For healthcare providers, I selected issue Issue which was for $50 already with 42% discount. So when I applied the 50% discount coupon they removed the earlier discount and added 50% Coupon and the price difference was only five dollars. Honestly for me I have not found a single good deal that has been offered by so many brands, for The front healthcare providers.
Yes. It can be hit or miss, with a lot in the 'miss' column. The fine print says discount for only fully priced items, which as it turns out, are only the latest designs and models up to twice the price as last seasons models and colorways. So, for some of the items I was looking at, it is only a fair deal with a fair price however I am getting the latest model. Not complaining...just observing. I will probably get a thermoball jacket sometime...like for Father's day. Good price and if I look hard enough I may get the price elsewhere with a different color but man am I fresh with the latest colors. Look at that other guy.....same jacket but so yesterday LoL. Worth it? Psychologically yes.

Excellent to first responders and those in the medical field, though I wish they would also do something for retail workers too.

What about essential workers who continue to provide necessary services for general public? Sure First Responders and people working on the front line should be respected and I thank them for their dedication. But essential workers, also continue to provide necessary services to general public so we can continue to live with necessity in our lives.

These deals need to include Essential Workers as well.

Then contact the businesses and let them know so.

i waited to get my car done & wasn't charged a shop fee or anything, it was totally free but ya some places r only offering $40 off. the standard oil change at my local mazda is only $36 so therefore it was free... i think the ppl who are being charged extra are for the places where the standard oil change is higher than $40.

Yes. You get free peace of mind that you're not working 12+ hour days watching hundreds of people suffer and die, all while worrying they might have infected you.

Seriously, entitled much?

Discrimination? So Starbucks is discriminating against everyone who didn't have a birthday today because they didn't give them a free drink too?

That's the problem with this country, too many people expect something off the work that others have done.

Thank you to all the people that continue to serve🙌🏼
