Depends. This model is for more the pure runner, and packs a lot for running without dropping $600. If you want a wear-all-the-time health wearable, there are better options.
Definitely a good price. Would those in the know recommend this or the forerunner 235 which is an older version of a higher end model at the same price point? Thanks!

I was deciding between this and the 235. Although the 45 is an excellent running watch with inevitability longer support behind it, I ultimately went with the 235 because of ConnectIQ. I can load maps, and track some additional activities with it, and load different watch faces. I only started running recently so I didn't want to drop a $300 on a 245, which is the one I wanted. Really like my 235 so far though - no complaints!

I also considered the 235. There are a couple new features (body battery, stress tracking) I wanted to try out. Plus the 235 is both bigger and heavier. It's personal preference but I like light and simple in this stuff. I almost bought the smaller S (i.e. womens) version in white. I ran for years with just a simple Timex Ironman 30-lap even though I had a Polar monitor. Back then they were bigger and I hated the heft.
Better than VivoActive 3 for a runner/cyclist and sometimes weight trainer?
I've read that some people had battery issues with the Vivoactive 3, but have not used one. We have a refurb Vivoactive 1 at home, and it's been great for years for multiple activities. I like the Garmin brand, even briefly (very briefly) worked for the company. I used DCRainmaker to compare all of the fitness watches I was interested in and ultimately settled on the Forerunner 45s because it has enough running/cycling/HR features for a decent price & would look better on my smaller wrist.

Question, i was looking at basic running tracking like pace and distance question is this the best option available for the price or we can do it via apple watch as well. What about the other sports options like for example biking etc? Will this have map with tracking?

This is a great option for accurate pacing, GPS and HR. Running or biking. Picked up the 45s for my ms daughter for xc and quarentine runs. You can also load the free garmin training programs on it. Those are cool. I have the Fenix 6 pro for me... But that's almost 1,000. This is excellent for the price and with kohl's cash.
I'm much happier wearing a watch that makes me want to go running, than one that alerts me to cell phone stuff that really doesn't improve my quality of life. 😂 This applies to Garmin in general
Looking for one with onboard GPS and music storage so you don't need to carry your phone or mp3 player when running. Samsung Active or active 2 is probably the cheapest with both features.

With Amazon, I you haven't used your 20% off offer, it will come out to $120.
Just a friendly reminder.
