If history is any indication the H9X series rarely go on sale and when they do it isn't a huge mark down. Pre ordered now, hopefully the rting review will be available soon.

I will say based on a Hisense rep on reddit this will NOT have HDMI 2.1 which is a huge bummer considering the next gen consoles will take advantage of the extra bandwidth. Will see what TCL will do before I buy now.

FOMO guy on youtube said not to bother getting the H9G the amount of dimming zones were reduced considerably & only a 60hz panel so they went a step back in technology unless the specs on amazon page are wrong. He said to get the H9F if u can find one.

The Hisense website shows 132 dimming zones last year and this year

Hisense guy confirmed it was 120hz panel (most likely at 1080p). Fomo is wrong on this one.

In all honesty what are you going to use HDMI 2.1 for? There arent really any 2.1 sources on the market yet to take advantage of the bandwidth. PS5 and Xbox SX will likely be 4k at 30 and 60fps, possibly some games running sub 4k. To hit 120fps at 4k would require a massive visual downgrade with the hardware the consoles are shipping with. Maybe the console generation after this one can take advantage of HDMI 2.1 but the upcoming gen I just don't see it

According to this article: https://www.polygon.com/2020/3/16...-specs-one the xbox series x will be doing more than 60fps, so getting a 60hz TV may be the wrong idea.

You're acting like people only use their TVs for console gaming. Next gen GPUs will also have HDMI 2.1. I plan on using my TV as a multi functional device for console and PC gaming.

You're also assuming that the only resolution available on the Xbox is either 1080p or 4K. Some games will have the ability to run at 1440p or some other resolution. 2.1 will give you the flexibility to run at higherish resolution while allow you to run higher refresh rates.

I made the pre-purchase based on: how well the h9f did in reviews, free returns, this being a TV in a spare play room, current TV lost it's contrast, and is from Oct 2015. 😁

He retracted that video. The tv is upgraded actually.

If you're expecting the current setup to be compatible with whatever xbox will be using, you have the wrong idea.
