Some have reported taking these charges off voids the $100 virtual prepaid card promotion despite the store representative saying otherwise. Speaking to the promotion reps from (800) 999-6389 and they only mention being on the $40 line is sufficient.

Don't know about the rest of you but the $100 rebate does not come back to you automatically. You need to apply at https://promo.metrobyt-mobile.com/. I took me some looking around to find this URL. Metro didn't tell me and the retailer I bought my phone at said to watch out for a text message from Metro that never came.

For 4 phones (max), you are looking a little better but not by too much (cost per phone drops by $22.50 assuming the fees are only $5 cumulatively for all four phones).
Port 4 numbers purchased from ebay. At the Metro store, prepay for 4 discounted iphones plus taxes, and prepay for one month of service and activation for each phone. Then let the Metro service expire after the one prepaid month due to non-payment. Put the phones in a drawer for 6 months, at which time they all will automatically unlock.
