5/5/2020: Now...$100 : only after instant redemption rebate ($200) and paying 6 months of service (after 6 mts , u will get $100 virtual prepaid card).
Note:
>>Only color available is black. Stock may vary by store.
>>Store may insist on selling plans >$30, i.e. the $60 plan or a $40 plan, and $6 monthly charge for insurance. They may add on a "free" pet tracker for tax (on $100), open up a phone line for $15 activation plus taxes and $10 monthly charge. Some have reported taking these charges off voids the $100 virtual prepaid card promotion despite the store representative saying otherwise. Speaking to the promotion reps from (800) 999-6389 and they only mention being on the $40 line is sufficient.

Don't know about the rest of you but the $100 rebate does not come back to you automatically. You need to apply at https://promo.metrobyt-mobile.com/. I took me some looking around to find this URL. Metro didn't tell me and the retailer I bought my phone at said to watch out for a text message from Metro that never came.
Switcher Instant Rebate: For a limited time at participating Metro® by T-Mobile stores, purchase an Apple iPhone SE 64GB Black and port-in an existing eligible wireless number to that phone and receive an instant $300 rebate off full retail price with validation of name, address, and date of birth provided through independent database and presentation of matching identification. Limit four (4) total phone instant rebates per account/household. Excludes phone numbers currently on T-Mobile or active on Metro in past 90 days. Rebates provided in form of credit against regular purchase price at time of sale and have no cash value. See store associate for complete details. Sales tax not included and is collected in accordance with state and local laws. Certain restrictions apply. No rain checks. Offer available while supplies last.
Just to clarify 6 months is the term needed to unlock the device. There's no 6 month requirement for the promotion (or penalty beforehand), just if you wanted to then the use the phone on another carrier.

You mean I can walk in and leave with a $99 iPhone SE then? To be used as an iPod?
Great deal if you need the service and are considering a switch. Cheapest plan for one user is $30/mo (2gb only) or $30/mo for four users with Amazon Prime, 15gb hotspot data, and 100gb Google drive space. The latter is not a bad deal. You have a $15 per line activation fee and presumably $5 a month in taxes/fees. That means that for one phone (unlocked), you need to spend $100+15+30+180 and the full retail price sales tax. At that price, you are pretty close to or more expensive than other deals (I'm thinking the Red Pocket, Visible, and Wal-Mart).
For 4 phones (max), you are looking a little better but not by too much (cost per phone drops by $22.50 assuming the fees are only $5 cumulatively for all four phones).

This is in-store deal. Yet to get more information on it
I'm gonna pass for now.

Edit: Thanks to those who replied that it does not work on T-Mobile while locked.
