5/5/2020: Now...$100 : only after instant redemption rebate ($200) and paying 6 months of service (after 6 mts , u will get $100 virtual prepaid card).
Note:
>>Only color available is black. Stock may vary by store.
>>Store may insist on selling plans >$30, i.e. the $60 plan or a $40 plan, and $6 monthly charge for insurance. They may add on a "free" pet tracker for tax (on $100), open up a phone line for $15 activation plus taxes and $10 monthly charge. Some have reported taking these charges off voids the $100 virtual prepaid card promotion despite the store representative saying otherwise. Speaking to the promotion reps from (800) 999-6389 and they only mention being on the $40 line is sufficient.
*********************************
Don't know about the rest of you but the $100 rebate does not come back to you automatically. You need to apply at https://promo.metrobyt-mobile.com/. I took me some looking around to find this URL. Metro didn't tell me and the retailer I bought my phone at said to watch out for a text message from Metro that never came.

What do you guys think? This is such a bs, i was screaming on the phone with their customer service today for an hour. So mad, I can't believe a public company is allowed to do this crap and not getting any class action suits.
For all the crap Boost gets, the stores I go to are a breeze. In and out, no games, add ons, etc.
Update: Ok, just spoke to a customer service rep. They said the $40 promo plan was the bare minimum to get the $100 gift card in 6 months, and it is sufficient. They will get rid of the pet tracker and refund the activation/plan costs/taxes as a credit on next month's bill. They can get rid of the insurance on next month. They don't have any rebate forms at the moment to fill out.
So in total, after the adjustments I paid $400 + $40 - $200= $240 for the phone, $15 for the activation fee, $3 for activation taxes, $6 for the insurance, and $40 for the month's service.
Before adjustments: $332 first payment and $56 for another 5 months, then a $100 rebate.
After adjustments: $304 first payment and $40 for another 5 months, then a $100 rebate.
I still have no idea what rebate forms to fill or submit, I don't see anything on their promo.metrobyt-mobile.com website for my account. *shrugs*

You will receive an SMS message letting you know you are eligible and the link to use for claiming your reward.
I didn't receive an SMS for the promotion I am eligible for?
There can be various reasons as to why you didn't receive an SMS for the promotion, here are some common items to consider:
Did you purchase the required product for the offer?
Did you activate the required product within the offer timeframe?
Did you meet any rate plan requirements of the offer?
Have you met the minimum length of service for the offer?
Remember, some of our offers require that you have active service & maintain that service for a specific period of time prior to being eligible for the offer.
How do I submit for the rebate?
Once you receive your initial SMS, simply complete the online submission process on this website. The mobile phone number submitted should be the primary number on the account. Please keep a copy of all submitted materials for your records.

Also, get the rep name and store ID(it should be on metropcs's website). They can't do stuff like that.
They used to do that here in NYC but it stopped for the most part. Corporate stores will not do it(anymore) but retailer stores...Yeah they will charge you taxes for the full MSRP.
There is one retail store 5 min walking distance from me and they will try to push anything they can and hold your account hostage. So, I'd rather drive 25 mins to a corporate store and get a peace of mind with the guy who's always helping me with these metro deals.
Great. Free coronavirus with every purchase.
The way T-Mobile did it when I bought a phone from them was to give us the phone and tell us it'll be ported in 2 hours. Metro is being super trashy keeping us there longer just to sneak in a service line and various taxes.
