Just signed up AT&T half hour ago and the port-in status is already "Your number has successfully been ported to AT&T". Weird, my order of SIM is still pending though.

Don't worry ATT will not port your number over before you are ready. ....they just got the previous carrier to agree to release your number

Placed online order yesterday. Got cancellation email today because they can't verify me. Note that I had At&t mobile service and TV a few years ago with the same exact details (address etc).

Called ecomm backdoor. They want me to go into a store during a pandemic. Called store, they said they can't verify online orders. They can only setup new services. Of course they don't have any promotions nor can they match online promotions.

Placed a new order. Called ecomm backdoor number again to explain my problem and they pushed me around to a few people. I can't talk to this magic team which verifies orders. I just have to wait and see. What is wrong with this company?

Update on the second line I added on Monday for my GV number. Got the SIM today and activated it on an old device I had w/o any issue. It all showed up under the account I set up couple of weeks ago. Thus far everything worked fine....

Unfortunately, lots.

I got a request email from AT&T to do a "new customer survey". I gave them a lot of negative feedback wherever I could.

My luck quickly ran out: Now, "Please call us at 877.782.8870. If we don't hear from you, your order will be canceled.". I called and nobody @ ATT had a clue and was bounced between departments. What a nightmare!

It just feels like the entire company is held together with duct tape. Their website is a mess. Phone reps sound depressed. Even the simplest tasks take forever.

Could you tell us what you asked for? It looks like reps on that line no longer have the power to verify applications.
They just ask me for full name, address,ss, then said that order still in progress and wait for an email. No sure they sent this to another dept

The AT&T dept that handles the Order Review Process is like the infamous Loss Prevention Dept at Tracfone. They're paranoid, see frauds everywhere, take heavy-handed actions that are often illogical and irreversible.

logged into my account and see that 1 line is on it's own plan and the other 4 lines are on another shared starter plan. So, currently it shows $255 + taxes for plan total. On chat with Rio Ray for the past hour-he has no idea what he's doing. Now I have his supervisor Vincent Shaw on chat-who seems to have the same excellent level of competence(sarcastic). Vincent is a clever one-he called me, asked me to close the chat window, and then hung up on me-so he would not have to combine the 2 plans into 1.
