Hey, I was wondering why many of you were porting out your completed numbers vs just cancelling them. Are you planning on using them for future promotions. If so, can you tell me the promotion info.

I don't have any plan for the next deal at the moment. I ported out to H2O because it's quick and easy. Didn't want to listen to their Retention rep trying to get me to stay.

I ported out to H2O. Kenpet in the Sprint thread ported his Sprint numbers to Tracfone AT&T SIMs and I think he said it took less than 30 minutes.
thanks! took about 18 hours for 1 of the lines to finish port. other 4 were done in a few hours.
since you have tracfone experience, do you know how to get the port-out details? i have all 5 lines under same login.

I've used Tracfone since 2001 but have never ported out a number from them. See this post from someone who knows the answer:

Also, in most cases, after your new carrier submit the port-in request, you may have to call Tracfone's porting department to release your number otherwise the process would stall

thanks. and for at&t/t-mobile branded tracfone, while porting into new carrier the old carrier will be "Other/Tracfone" and not at&t/t-mobile, right?

I didn't call TF last time porting numbers into Sprint. Just the account# and pin, went through smoothly.

Error message upon checking the porting status:
"LNP007: According to our records, the number you entered is not currently in the number transfer/porting process. Please contact Customer Care for further assistance: 1-888-898-7685"

Seems porting process hasn't started yet? Or should I call the given number?

What does AT&T Order Status show? If it does not show a green "In Process", then your order has not been accepted yet.

That means they've accepted your order. Give it some time. Check the porting web site this evening.

My acct #2 with two lines were activated on 5/27. On 7/1 (35th day) I contacted Chat and requested the $250 GCs. The rep manually entered them into the system. 7/3 to 7/5 was the long July 4th weekend, so they weren't available for claiming until 7/6, approved 7/7 with an estimated Mailed Date of 7/16. This morning 7/13 I saw the cards in USPS Informed Delivery for today. Turned out they were mailed on 7/11, didn't get any email notice. So the cards are received on the 47th day, that will give me time to bail early and get a bigger refund from AT&T.

Nice. What refund are you referring to? Say if you leave on 50th day, will they give refund to the unused 10 days? Thanks.
