You need to provide the Port-In number while placing the order, it will even ask for Account number, Pin.

Regarding IMEI, you dont have to provide anywhere.

What if later I need to request for unlocking. they have 60 day unlocking policy, but how do they know if this phone's been active without IMEI? Thanks.

What phone make/model that you want AT&T to unlock? Is it an AT&T phone? Are you buying it from AT&T? AT&T doesn't lock your phone when you use an existing unlocked phone as BYOD.

I placed the order earlier today and My Port Status says 'Confirmed' and Order Status says 'In Progress' meaning it's all set...right. Do i still need to call back door and confirm the verification?

AT&T deal is troublesome at the beginning, but it's a lot easier to collect the GCs than with Sprint.
My order got cancelled.. oh well!

Which order got cancelled? Didn't you already have an account set up and bill generated?

Thanks.I have an iPhone 8 bought a while ago, that's carrier locked by AT&T. It's currently not under my AT&T account. I'm thinking to swap it in for unlocking purpose.

I had ordered it with a new number hoping to replace the number later with another from Sprint that I recently received GC for.

After calling/chatting from pillar to post, couldn't get anyone to confirm that it would still be eligible for GC. A couple of reps suggested cancelling that line and adding new line with port in. So I cancelled that one and when I tried to add another one, it would still send the one-time code to my cancelled number!! Chatted again and was advised to create new account with new line and then merge it with current account. So now need to wait for sim for that one.

Sprint deal now seems like a breeze compared to AT&T. I was going to move to AT&T internet with their 1gig deal. Now no chance

Although you don't have to register/report the IMEI, AT&T knows the IMEI when the phone is used in your account. In my case, it recognized some of the devices as AT&T-branded and display their pictures in the Device List.

OK, got it. So they cancelled the order for Line 2 which you removed earlier. It baffles me that they cancelled it when you already have an account. Obviously the reason is not due to your credit score or "fraud at that address" like someone was told.
