WARNING- DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE. It most likely gets unauthorized full access to your google account. It may destroy your Nest and Google Home setup-

How does this compare to other options? Based on specs, it will perform at least as well as an Amazon Fire Stick 4K and likely a bit better due to 25% more RAM and a (very) slightly faster CPU. GPU performance is nearly identical. Other than that, advantages over other similarly priced devices are Chromecast Ultra 4K capability and searching across apps (haven't personally tried this). Spec comparison below.

TiVo Stream 4K (this device)
Amlogic S905Y2 SoC (12nm)
- CPU: 4x ARM [email protected]
- GPU: Mali-G31@650MHz
- onboard storage: 8GB
- memory: 2GB DDR4
- big bonus, IMO: USB-C port for use with Ethernet adapter and expandable storage options (I wouldn't be surprised if you could power it through the type-C port as well, but that's not official)

Amazon Fire Stick 4K (2018)
MediaTek MT8695 SoC (12nm)
- CPU: 4x ARM [email protected]
- GPU: PowerVR Rogue GE8300@660MHz
- onboard storage: 8GB
- memory: 1.5GB DDR4

Mi Box (2016)
Amlogic S905X SoC (28nm)
- CPU: 4x ARM Cortex-A53@2GHz
- GPU: Mail-450@750MHz
- onboard storage: 8GB
- memory: 2GB DDR3

Good comparison of the S905X in the Mi Box and the S905Y2 in the TiVo: https://androidtvbox.eu/functiona...nd-s905x2/

Nope!
I was looking for that information back when I first heard about it too.

To my knowledge, it's merely an Android TV-powered streaming device. I believe it integrates their ad-supported TiVo Plus app (plus other streaming apps such as Sling), but no live TV from your TiVo or DVR extension like the TiVo Minis allow.
I have a TCL r617 TV and a Samsung q70 soundbar. The TV does DV and the soundbar does Atmos. The fire TV stick 4k will only output Atmos through certain titles on Amazon prime. It does not work for Netflix which is where you get most of your atmos content. To be honest I'm not even sure what you were trying to say in your post. It sounds like you agreed with me but wanted to type some stuff in all caps. If that was the intention then congrats.

that remote with the "Input" button might be the thing that gets me to abandon the roku streaming sticks.

I wish this integrated with a TiVo if you already have it. If there was some way that I could search across cable TV I can watch from my Bolt and various apps that I subscribe to, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The Bolt doesn't have all apps unfortunately and doesn't support Dolby Vision.

So Tivo is just a random streaming platform now like roku or android tv?
