Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

Is it up to 49.99 now? Just tried it and got 49? Had a message saying enroll in autopay with a bank and it would save 10 more. Did that but still shows 49.

it's Sept 2020 and this still worked for me today. Had discount expiring this month too, putting me back up to 54.99. But with these instructions, using the black and white mix and match button, I was able to snag this 39.99 price 200 speed and using own router.

Thanks, saved me a phone call.

I had to call and talk to a human to set up debit card billing, then it lowers to $39.

I had 100/100 for $39.99/month +tax/fee totaling $43/month (using my Fios own modem) for 2-years agreement, just now through chat I was able to get 200/200 for $39.99/month including tax/fee for 12-months.

FWIW, there's a (limited) first-responder discount for fire/ems, emt/nurse, teacher professionals. There's Connections for those with applicable companies/organizations.

I ordered this online today. Confirmation did not show a speed upgrade charge of $149. Text message showed that charge. I chatted with the rep and was unable to get it waived. I had to cancel it. Anyone else had the same experience?

I believe the $149 fee would be for an ONT replacement. Specifically, if you currently have an old ONT that is only for 100mbps service. Check if your ONT already supports 1gbps service, and if it does, then you should be able to ask verzion to upgrade your speed without the $149 fee. If your ONT is an older model that only supports 100mbps, they'll charge you for a replacement. On the other hand, I've read online that verzion may replace an ONT free of charge if the customer is having internet issues. Also, when using above 100mbps, you'll need to have your router connected to the directly ONT via ethernet (not MoCA\Coax).

I didn't see this deal available on my account, but I was able to get it after clicking on the chat box and asking for "operator", then waiting 15minutes. I asked the rep if I could get 200/200 for $39.00, and they said that was available option, and told me I'll be switched by the end of the day.

For FIOS internet only, do you need a specific modem or router for it to work? I know when i used to have FIOS TV and Internet in a former house, i needed their actiontec because of MoCa.

For internet only the ONT installed by Verizon is the modem and you can use any router which can handle your speed level.

Thanks, it would be internet only. Can I buy a modem or do I need to rent? I was googling for approved modems and didn't come across a like like I did for my current Spectrum service.

Verizon Connections gives another $5/month off the internet-only plan if you're eligible for the program.

Verizon doesn't have modems. You can rent their router or buy one. Since you're only getting the internet service, it's normally cheaper in the long run to buy one yourself. However, if you decide to get the TV service, then you'll need to rent their router or buy that specific one as it is required for the TV service to function.

Did this in July as an existing customer and it worked. Even getting 300Mbps rates.

For those that need to switch to ethernet for faster speeds, Moca adapters work really well. I'm using the goCoax brand Moca 2.5 adapters there were ~ $100 for a pair.
