Walmart electronics clearance section. Reviews show just shy of 500 MB/s read/write speeds. USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 and includes a usb-c to usb-a adaptor. IP 55 water and dust resistant. Weighs 1.4 oz. Dimensions: 0.4 x 2 x 3.8 inches.
Shows in stock at $40 at all locations around me, but still $72 online.
Never used brickseek before. Can I order online for pickup and then have the price adjusted when I pick it up? Or do I have to go in store to get it at this price? TIA.

Nope. Have to go to the store and "hunt" for the elusive item. Chances are you won't find it because walmart inventory is crap shoot .

Ugh. I think I would rather pay full price than have to go into Walmart right now...or ever! Lol
In the past you could order online for in-store pickup, and as long as it's fulfilled in-store and not ship to store, when you pick the item up you'd get an email saying the price was adjusted to the clearance price. But the tax isn't adjusted.

Thank you for that information. I may try this on a future purchase. -I wonder if this has worked for others as well?
Nah, this is a rip-off. 1TB has been as low as about $100. And the market for little 256GB thumb drives isn't able to leverage this added speed anyway (let alone, probably doesn't have true USB 3.2 Gen. 2 bus capability). As always, THERE'S A REASON THIS IS ON CLEARANCE...

How about in the present?
How does one know if the order is fulfilled in store, or ship to store?
Thanks!

This is a good price for this portable ssd and it's on clearance because there's a new 2x faster model.
Thanks OP Got 3, 1 for me and the other 2 for friends. Comparable to 256 GB jump drive price wise, but I figure more durable (SSD) and convenient for travel, easy to find (good to back up my desk top).
Brickseek is showing 45 at a distant location. Does that mean anything?
45 seems a pretty high number for walmart to mess up . I would take a look in the store if it is not out of your way or you could call their Electronics dept to see if you get an helpful employee to locate them for you.
Yes, I know the SD rule of "no call" but in this case of high inventory number, it's
probably worth the risk.

If anything 45 seems like an impossibly high number for them to have in stock of this kind of product. I think he's seeing 4-5 and thinking it's 45. LOL

You can tell it is fulfilled in the store if it says "same day" or "next day" pickup available.
