Wow, what a cheap price. Reviews point out that the burr grinder is not very efficient but still works. For $15 though, I'm definitely in for one. Been yearning to try out a french press and everything else is marked up (particularly burr grinders) on Amazon right now. Thanks OP!
Grinder is trash, can be had for 5 bucks on ebay, very very slow, but does give a burr mill. You're talking a few minutes of manual grinding for one cup.
How to French Press.
I recommend a 16:1 coffee to water ratio. About 50 grams coffee to 800 grams water for your standard 8cup press.
Start with a coarse grind coffee, water just off of a boil.
1. Pour enough water to cover the grinds and let sit for 30 seconds. This is called the bloom.
2. Pour the rest of your water to ~800grams and give it a stir to incorporate all the grinds.
3. Let sit for 3.5 minutes. Totaling 4 minutes.
4. Plunge the coffee and enjoy.
If you've never done burr grinding and French press, this is a cheap way to try it out. But don't skimp on a cheap grinder if you enjoy it. A good mechanical grinder can give you about 10 differ grind options which may find the flavor you're looking for.
I grind and press about 30 oz. a day. A much smoother, creamier taste.

Yeah. I do. I straight up just use mine as a pepper mill. Though if you have like large cardamom pods or star anise it's very possible it won't drop down into the grinder at all.

Pretty decent reviews for a similar version that sold for $25 at one point. Worth it for the Burr Grinder alone.
Thanks OP
