Cloverfield is a 2008 American monster film directed by Matt Reeves, produced by J.J. Abrams, and written by Drew Goddard. The film stars Michael Stahl-David, Odette Yustman, T.J. Miller, Jessica Lucas, Lizzy Caplan, and Mike Vogel. The film uses a found footage motif to follow five young New York City residents fleeing from a massive monster and various other smaller creatures that attack the city while they are having a farewell party.

If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend steaming/renting first. It was entertaining enough, but didn't live up to the hype at all for me. OTOH, 10 Cloverfield Lane was excellent. Sorry to compare the two, entirely different films but they kept the same naming system.

maybe I was too young to appreciate this movie.... But I distinctly remember thinking "wow, I cant believe I actually watched that whole thing" after it finished. Not a good movie and surprised to see it on slick deals.

This is a "found footage" movie in 2008. The entire film is supposed to be a tape from a handheld video cam. How would 4k benefit this movie at all?
