I noticed that a few of these became available again, and it seems like the price dropped. There's one available at a store near me in West Hollywood. If there's more, please mention in the comments after you grab one for yourself.
I've been getting really lucky on these "fair" condition TV's. I'm on my 3rd for both myself and family members and they've either been brand new (still plastic peels and all) or gently treated display models. But of course, YMMV

I picked up the same 65" B9 at BB in "satisfactory" open box condition for $1140. They took it off the display wall for me. Had to order a remote for $30 but the remote from my old LG TV worked in the interim. The TV looks great and allowed me to get an OLED for a little more than I would have spent on a Nanocell or QLED. Also has HDMI 2.1, Dolby Atmos and 120Hz native refresh rate. Rtings dot com rates it high (8.9/10).

I picked up a 65" C9 last week in satisfactory condition. Had everything in the box with minor scratches on the back of the tv. 0 hours on display. $1319.99.

I bought one last week also satisfactory. Store was 1.5 hours away so I called and they said the screen was mint. I went to pick it up and they had it wrapped in plastic and bubble wrap already and they confirmed it was mint. I get it home and open it up and theres a 1 inch scratch on the display on the bottom corner. I hung it and turned it on and it can only be seen if theres a white background which is rare. Even then I dont pay attention to it. I was almost going to return it but its barely noticeable and my wife said I was stupid for even noticing.

Moral of the story is inspect your tv before taking it home. This store wasnt allowing people in without an appointment and mine was wrapped up extremely well with several layers of plastic. I had to lay it flat since the q7 isnt tall enough for this tv on the stand. I didnt want to mess up their wrapping job, and silly me I believed them the tv was mint. The good news is the tv only had 200 hours on it. Most display models have 3000-4000 hours on them. Dont be a dummy like me and not inspect it thoroughly.

I just picked up a C9 yesterday for the same price. 450 hours. But the screen has some water residue. I suspect the idiots at BBY used an inappropriate cleaner. I am returning it today.

Just purchased the B9 (which is literally the same as the C9) for almost $300 less.

No brainier.

Ugh, another open box. Why are there so few deals now on TVs? Is it because they don't need to do sales because the pandemic has increased demand since people are sitting at home anyway?

No clue, but with the 1 year manufacturer warranty and geek squad protection, I would take these deals over anything.

There is one available at my local store but hesitant to pull the trigger since it's a display model. The guy did say i can return it within 15 days. Is it easy to access the service menu to see how many hours are on it? Unfortunately, I cannot inspect it before taking it home due to curbside delivery. My store even said that the Geeksquad warranty will be cheaper because it's open box. Is this warranty one of the better ones out there or no?

Being retail stores are closed they need to maximize profit. That's why there really isn't any good deals on anything right now. People are at home bored spending money they probably don't have one things they probably don't need.

So why hesitant?

95% of these open box deals are display models. Once and a while someone hits the jackpot and gets a return with 0 hours on it, original packaging etc...

It takes 30 seconds to check the hours. And another 5 minutes to check the TV for damage and burn IN.

You have 15 days to return and if you decide to keep it, the GS warranty is so cheap.

My local Best Buy has one, no remote or stand and they think it has issues powering off, they still want 1,139 for it. Seems a bit too much.

That is not "satisfactory" condition IMO.

Also, I paid $1,139, but when I picked up the TV it had a sticker price of $999 and they lowered the price.

Yeah I tried talking them lower on the phone on it and wouldn't budge. If it had the stand I would probably pull the trigger as remotes are cheap and I would just buy the warranty.
