For years, I bought cheap ($20-30) versions of trimmers from a variety of brands, including Wahl, Oster, and Philips. They all felt like they had the same crappy motor, their batteries were mediocre, they would routinely pull my hairs out, and adding oil was one more thing to do. 3-4 years ago, I decided to finally get a decent one.

I ended up with a Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 [amazon.com], and it has been like night and day. When I only use it once a week or so, it lasts months on a charge. The motor is so much more smooth than any other one I've used. I haven't had to add oil since I bought it. The nose/ear hair attachment is actually useful (if a little painful) and easy to switch out.

And it's only $55, which is about the cost of 1.5 to 2 cheapo ones. I know I sound like a shill here, but it's one of those little things you don't realize how much you dislike until you get a good one.

Yes I have that too. It seems to come with more accessories than this. They also have a mid model which is 35 on Amazon. Great for people who don't need that many attachments. I dislike adjustable clippers like this one

Get the Phillips 7000 series from Costco. Way better quality than this.

Is that a Gillette proglide that comes with it? And does it come with more than one cartridge?

I paid $10 for the model MGK3060 on Amazon during Black Friday. It's basically the same design. I had medium length hair and my hair kept clogging up the attachment when I shaved my head. I don't recommend using it to shave your head.
Use the medium size clip to shorten your hair. Then remove it to shave off the rest. That'll help with the clogging

I bought the 8 in 1 at Target for this price like 2 weeks ago because that's all they had in stock that I was willing to buy. For the 8 in 1, it's been great so far. I wish I could have gotten my hands on this model around the same time though. I really wanted the foil shaver...

Return it and buy on line

bought this two weeks ago to replace an 8 year old braun that I've broken both of the guards that I actually use (mostly my fault) but the actual shaver is still running strong. this thing feels very well built and it's much more of a hair clipper than just a shaver/beard trimmer, definitely worth $40 IMO.

I'm having the same problem. I added it to the cart, but can't checkout to complete the purchase.
