Worth the additional $110?
Didn't open this yet: https://slickdeals.net/f/14014784-ymmv-dewalt-4-tool-20-volt-max-power-tool-combo-kit-w-case-in-store-only-ymmv-149-5?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Primarily need the drill and impact; are the brushless options that better? The brushed impact seems stronger on paper.
Appreciate your input.
I purchased the $149 but returned it for the HD XR brushless and 996 Drill flex kit for $279. After reviewing in more detail, I think the brushless is overrated as I watched reviews of YouTube the 885 driver is a solid built driver. The real world difference is minimal for the regular DIY. Personally, I didnt need the saw and the flashlight and I wanted to focus more money on the driver and drill as those are the two things I would use the most.

I don't need the sander and flashlight, any idea how much they might sell for each on CL (tool only)?

Was just looking at this and people said 12v is good enough for 90% of jobs, 18v needed more so for contractors. What type of work would this be good for at 20v? Are these units heavy?
In the power tool world 20v=18v. There is no difference, it's just that some companies choose to use the fully charged battery voltage without a load on it and others use the actual operating voltage. DeWalt never says 20v without an asterisk which points to this fine print:
*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.

I bought one of these bags of DeWalt tools back when they came out so I've been using them like 4-5yrs, maybe a bit longer. 20v MAX set but it included a circular saw, and couple other cutters.

Used for modest home renovations across 3 houses so far. They've all been great to me. The only problem I had was my kid left one of the batteries out in the rain and... Well I don't recommend doing that. The other battery is still doing great to this day.

Man, I just need the sander and oscillating tool.
You can do ok reselling. I bought a combo kit of drill, impact driver, oscilating tool and 2 batteries a while back. Didnt need the drill and was able to sell the bare tool for 60 on facebook marketplace. Id expect you could pull 60 on the impact driver as well. Then maybe 30 on the light, so 150 total. It would be some legwork but would knock this down to 119 plus tax for you.

If anyone is looking for an XR set it's worth a shot to check brickseek for the following...

https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-X...1000208109

https://brickseek.com/lowes-inven...1000208109

Also keep an eye on the price on Amazon. I picked one up two weeks back for the same price as Lowe's - $319.

Damn, I'm still waiting for Acme Tools to ship the M12 Fuel Hammer/Impact set with bonus ratchet.... I'm pretty tempted to cancel and jump on this platform since I need an orbital sander as well.
Home Depot has it back in stock. I cancelled at Acme. I want to support the smaller business, but it's been sitting at "order received" for a while, and some "someday" projects just got moved up. This is tempting tho.

My work is 100% M12 and M18. My boss buys all the tools, even though he's all-in on DeWalt at home. We do maintenance work for 8 different 100+ unit apartment buildings and like 3 subvisions worth of homes and townhomes. Everything that doesn't require a licensed steamfitter we do in-house. That 90% figure is very accurate. We only break out the M18 for the biggesr jobs or the tools that don't have M12 versions like yard tools. My boss worked in construction for forever, and he uses the Milwaukee and DeWalt platforms, so I'd say between the 2 it depends on the better deal at the time, or which platform you're already invested in if you don't want a table of different chargers. For me, everything I have is M12 so far, got some more "heavy duty" projects coming up. Toss up between starting on M18s or these, personally.

Would this be a good set for a diy-er? My wife has been begging me for some tools.

I built a wood pergola in my yard and it was a nightmare with a cheap Riyobi impact driver. Do you think this one will be good enough to handle that kind of job? I'd rather have more power than I need than strip a bunch of screws and want to throw my tools. Thanks in advance!
