I would recommend getting these from REI rather than going for the price match from Amazon. In the case of a backpacking backpack, they'll fit it for you and be way easier to work with if you have an issue. Of course all of that assumes that they reopen their stores at least partially at some point in the future.

I rarely shop at REI because of the high prices, but I would choose to get the product there every time if the price were the same.
Good deal on a great backpack. Got two (Farpoint and Fairview) a couple years ago, and don't think I've traveled with a normal suitcase since. I payed a little less, but that was from the UK (Chain reaction cycles), so we had to wait for it to ship. But yeah, under $100 shipped via Amazon is a great deal.

I have two of the Farpoint 70 backpacks (one for me one for the gf) and they're amazing! So far we have done three 3-week trips: once in Asia and twice in Europe (including once in a snowy January) and never had a problem. Love the backpack, although when full it is quite heavy. I'm considering getting a second smaller backpack like the 40L for shorter trips. The fact that it separated into the larger portion (which turns into a duffle bag) and a smaller portion (which is a day backpack) is amazing for getting it onto flights as carryons. Haven't had to use their warranty service but I've heard that's top notch as well. Highly highly recommend for anyone on the fence.

I have the Farpoint and Porter. Both are great bags. Occasionally eBags does a sale and on top of that there's an AMeX discount. Got them for about $65 each a year ago

I used the farpoint 40 for a two week trip to Europe and loved it. We were able to take it as a carry-on for all of our flights, even those that were intra-Europe. YMMV as I think it was technically oversized by European standards. It likely helped that we were flying business class.

Anyway, it fit more than enough for a week and we were able to do laundry at almost the halfway point of the trip. Traveling light made the trip a lot more fun for us, but it would have been an impediment if we wanted to buy much to bring back.

I have a Kelty Redwing 44 (I haven't used it yet). Is there any advantage of these over the Kelty? Perhaps say the Porter 46 for size comparison? Kelty seems to be more of an outdoor type of bag perhaps?

Kelty is entry level, Osprey is medium-high. You will get lighter weight and better design in general with Osprey, and likely better customer service.

After noticing this post, I checked the Porter 46 out of curiosity since i'm looking for another one & @ $88 for the castle grey (cheaper for the blue) they're at an amazing price point.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X3VS...YEb8K3T9T0

I'd imagine if you keep looking through the osprey stuff, you'll find more sales. That being said, I've been using my porter 46 for about 2-3 years now (since purchasing from a sale I found on here) and I can honestly say that this is hands down the best travel bag i've ever used. Super comfortable and no issues whatsoever. I just don't know how to post on SD, otherwise I would.

Hope that helps!
