Pretty much a garbage TV for any type of use. you would be much better off with something like a tcl r625, hisense h8g, or vizio m in this price range.

Thumbs down me all you want but youre paying for the name on this one.

It is. You don't want to listen to the idiot above you. Those tvs come from brands with reputations that currently range from garbage to dogshit.
Have fun wasting 700 on a entry level quality 4K TV just because it has a brand you trust written on the box. This TV is a complete joke for the price.

There's also no proof that Samsung TV's are more reliable than the brands he mentioned. The difference is they don't rip you off price wise.

This was mentioned in another thread but the 8000 series is becoming more of a budget TV instead of the solid mid-tier it was just a few years ago...

Lost native 120hz panel and lost wide color gamut. So now the 8000 is equivalent to the old 7000 series. Very sad for Samsung fans. I wouldn't buy TCL either due to poor quality control and upscaling issues. LG is in charge, or buy Sony if you don't mind paying huge marketing premium.

I have the NU8000 65 and am very happy, just the blacks aren't great as expected. True what you're saying about Samsung. They are putting the lower level tech with the step up name. I've been hearing how new q80 is comparable to last year q70. I will say this, Samsung tv are a brand name but I've had no issues with mine so if the price includes confidence it won't go bad that's fine with me, just gotta make sure you're not paying full price.

Don't know if I'd call a 6.9 rating "garbage" sub par sure.

Bought it yesterday. Samsung TV #5 for me. All 5 still work great to this day. Definitely worth 650 with a free gift card.

so much misinformation in this thread yikes,

In April, Samsung Electronics announced that it would be outsourcing the production of LCD TV modules to TCL.

if youre calling TCL dogshit you might as well throw samsung in there too because its literally the same exact panels
