If you already own the battery this might be worth a punt.

If you don't stay well away. The batteries and chargers are so overpriced it is literally cheaper to buy a $200 bundle and get them included than this.

Fun trick on the batteries. Buy a cheap tool from Lowe's and get the extended warranty. There's a "preventive maintenance" component to the agreement that allows you 50% rebate on equipment (including batteries) for the life of the warranty (up to $100 per year). It's supposed to come in the form of Lowe's credit, but they just sent me a check.

Interesting device but still pricey in my case for its limited usage. I'll bite if it's on clearance for 1/2 off. Got a bunch of Snapper 60V batteries but they'll fit in this tool with some Dremel work (to remove the different location plastic ridges).

Same here. I have mostly 60v snapper stuff but I modified a couple greenworks 60v tools to take the snapper batteries. Just have to cut a strip of plastic off the inside of the battery slot on each side of the tool.

This would be pretty handy for power outages to run my cable modem and network equipment.

So if you manage to rig the Greenworks charger into this device then, theoretically you can have permanent AC output, right? laugh out loud

I'm a fan of the Ryobi versions of this. I've got a few of the 150w max power ones (18v) and bring them out for camping. It has a couple of USB ports and a 120V plug - I use ours to power the following items:

-Laptop
-Outdoor projector
-Charge phones
-Keep the electric cooler running
-Impromptu flashlight (has a small light on it)
-CPAP machine - not for me but a friend brought one but not a power supply. This worked.

It's not powerful enough to run a coffee maker, microwave, or anything else with a greater than 150w draw but they are definitely handy. Doubly so if you have already invested in the battery eco-system.

They also have a 300w version but I think it runs off the Ryobi 40v batteries.

The Greenworks 40V version is way cheaper, $40. I don't know if the 60V one is better in any way, but I would assume...

I have the 40v version of this. I keep it in my shed. It's great for charging phones and speakers during a party, but even better for its main use- it can power my lettuce bartop arcade cabinet for a couple hours.

I'd be interested in this 60v version as well.

Where does it say offer ends May 26? Don't see it anywhere in their site?
