10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

Interesting, currently paying $99 a month. The rate after the promotional 12 month period is back to $69.99 still cheaper than what I'm paying. Going to call. Thanks!

As no one seemed to comment on it yet, the price is only good for the first 12 months then $69.99/month (still not too bad).
Yeah this should be noted in the OP.

I am paying $80 now, no tax/fee or equipment fee. I have the 1Gb fiber service 2 years ago.

Available for existing 1GB customers. Need to activate it via the AT&T internet account dashboard first. Worked like a charm.

I have the giga internet and went into my account attempted to setup HBO Max but was getting an error saying something like "We can't get your account ready right now..." Call ATT and they placed a ticket to troubleshoot.

I have att internet 1000 but it says I am not eligible for hbo max when logging in and selecting att as my provider.
Call them... I think they signed me up for this new deal. I tried to login first to find my free HBOMax but couldn't login like you, so I called and they saved me $20/mo!

Update: I called the 800 listed on my bill (paper/PDF) and the CS said it's only for new customer. I asked CS to connect me with retention team. The retention team CS is very nice and put me on hold to change my existing 1Gb fiber plan pricing to $49.99 for 12 months. I am in Atlanta region with existing AT&T 1Gb fiber only service and was paying $80/month.
Are you still within a 12 month contract?
I am only 4 months into my contract, currently paying a promo price of $80 a month. Called about getting the $49.99 rate but they said they can't do it since I'm already "on a promo price", and if I wanted to cancel there would be an ETF fee of $120

Would love to get the service, but they don't provide the fibre service to my house, but they do to my neighbor Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I have a pending fiber install. However, I saw an option to add HBO Max to my account at free of charge. It seem to work.
