10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

When you cancel Spectrum internet in middle of month cycle, do they charge whole month or prorata?

Can anyone tell me if I could use my own modem with att fiber? Or do I have to use their gateway? Thank you for any info.
No, I work for them for 7 yrs now and have not seen one owned by customer unless its a modem they bought through at&t

In Dallas (where AT&T is headquartered) speeds up to 25Mbps for only $50 (+tax and fees). A big FU to AT&T.

Anyone using it in San Diego? How's the network and speed reliability in general, of course it's location dependent. Thanks
From my experience as a tech for at&t I haven't had any call from my customers regarding their fiber had problem or went down with over 200 installs I did in Orange county and LA county, at&t copper is another story lol

I'm not sure why the 25Mbp plan is available where I live, when my parents who live 5 minutes away in the same zip code gets the 1GBps plan... It's been like this for two years now. Desperately want to flip off spectrum.
They are still in the process of deploying fiber to different area, prioritized new development first also Covid 19 slowed down the process by a lot

If you are currently on any promotion that is pricier than this promo you should call in and ask to get transfer to retention and have them adjust, the retention team is very good at retaining you Smilie

Many websites and/or file hosts won't saturate your connection. If you're getting 900MBit+ on speedtest website, you're getting the service you're paying for.
The other weak link is often the router, which is not always able to handle the 1Gbit connection, especially if you have QoS features enabled.
I'm getting around 300mb on speed test, never above 450mb. This still doesn't fix the always laggy connection while streaming anything

Accounting for all the loss in the optical cables, its near 900ish Mbps. But that's as good as it gets.
