10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

You can try running an internal speed test from https://myhomenetwork.att.com that should bypass any computer issues. If you're not getting close to 900 on that test, then it's definitely a connection/gateway issue.

charlotte still got 50MBPS only for $50+ taxes + equipment fee.

I used the chat feature on att.com and basically the guy told me I have to login and then go into my account and click on the HBO Max offer. That then activates my account and allows me to log in with my AT&T credentials and access HBO Max. I confirmed that via the app.

For those with speed issues that are not getting resolved, try going into modem settings and turning off 2.4 ghz network, see if that helps.

Just called customer servoce and they switched it to $49.99. Was paying $90. Surprisingly they didn't mention anything about $10 device fee. Also checked my current bill just see 1000 MBPS plan charges of $90 and $0.23 oh fee no device fee. Hope they dont start charging from next month still better than $90.

Southern California ATT was not able to offer me $49.99 only $59.99. Spoke with a CSR and an angry Manager. I was paying $90 without any equipment fees for a couple of years.
