10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.
That's BS! Call them and ask to be transferred to the customer retention department right away. They'll help.
The offer finally showed up for me in my OFFERS section on the app. Chat support told me to call the Loyalty Department and tell them I want to cancel so I can get the new price point. Just had the phone support rep from the Loyalty department switch me from the $90/month price point to the new $49/month for 12 months price point! And still get to keep HBO MAX!
do they run a hard credit check? FYI my current Spectrum would not come close to matching this deal.
also how far out did you guys have to plan for a technician to come and do they need to spend a lot of time in the home? i'm trying to avoid other folks in my home with the pandemic.

I just signed up last week. They do run a credit check, I believe it should be a soft pull but they could not specify. I scheduled a tech to come out this Friday, about 5 days after I signed up. Got the 100$ install waived and still got the 100$ gc. My tech will need to do a new connect so most of the visit will probably be outside at the telephone poll and the cable box going into the house.

From my experience it is almost always a hard pull. A good way to confirm this is to check your credit report. If you use something like Credit Karma, they typically notify you right away when your credit is pulled.

Thanks, yeah curious if its hard or soft pull. thanks for insight

Isn't the installation included with the signup? Or they charge you up front and credit you later. I recall seeing $0.00 due today during the signup.

I don't have time to go through the comments but I've been a subscriber for the last few years and they gave me the promo pricing. Went from 90 to 50/month. After the first year it goes to 70 so I'll still be saving 20/month forever. It was pretty quick and easy to do this and I told my neighbors and they all did the same.

Same here about the COVID-19 concerns with a small child in the house. For those that already had their install, was the installer wearing appropriate PPE like gloves and face mask?

The was the case for me - it showed free install and $0.00 due today and like $60 or so for the first bill. They still charged me $99 for the install afterwards. I had to call & talk to a CS rep to get it credited back.

First, I had to fill out a screening form ahead of time. When the installer came, he had a face mask & gloves and booties he would put over his shoes when he came inside the house. He only had to go where the cable came inside and install the modem/router. You could probably just keep your child in a different room and would be fine.
Spoiler alert! - Many of us will not be able to have that speed, none of my devices go over 300Mbps, still amazing speed but way below what was advertised. Just my 2 cents
No dice for me. I currently pay $70/month ($100 regular rate, with a $30/month promotion). They told me the offer isn't on my account because I'm already at a promotional rate.
Maybe next time!

The install fee was charged as a one-time charge, but I received 100% off on the install fee. The caveat is that I had to call in to sign up since my address needed to be added to the ATT system as serviceable.

This sounds like a wifi limitation... have you tried plugging directly into the modem via Ethernet cable?
