10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

Wondering the same... I called 2 months ago as I'm off contract currently and was told there were no offers to resign and to call back at a later date.

Folks, want to add AT&T TV as well. The bundle looks cool for the first 12 months($100-110), for next 12 however it's unacceptable($150-$160). Feels to me that it's cheaper to break the contract, pay termination fees and renegotiate or come back to Comcast. I'm planning to use all these gift cards to pay.

Sounds like a crazy plan, WDYT?

my bill has been $100 a month. I called and the service rep said no deal available, so i should call back next week. Then I asked to get transferred a retention dept. Retention rep was nice enough to reduce the fee to 69.99 as permanent change.

$69.99 is market rate, so not doing you a huge favor. They did the same for me (and refuse any other promotion). The last time I called they gave me a one time $10 off for complaining.

wth? They'are charging $99 installation. Is that common for every one?

Edit: no self install for me. Tech has to come out since I didn't have at&t before. Any way around that? Called them but was told $99 is the tech install fee in the area.

*Cancelled* DIdn't want to go through all the hassle and box install and wiring at home for saving $10 for 50 Mb speed over spectrums 200 Mb.
