10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

bwg210 is what i got on friday

That's the same model I got with my 100 Mbps AT&T Internet plan about 2 years ago. When I called a few months ago to upgrade to the 1 Gbps plan, AT&T said the same equipment works for it as well. And it does. I just measured 759 Mbps up, 867 Mbps down with my wired Ethernet on my PC.

On the cart it says (see attached screenshot):
Monthly charges $59.99
and:
Total monthly savings $20.00

Does this mean my monthly will be $39.99 or its already accounting for savings in $59.99?

Att still wants 50mpbs for $50 in my location meanwhile on the other side of town they offer 1gbps. What a joke. Still keeping Spectrum 400mbps/20mbps w/ no datacaps for $44.99 with random downtimes.

So it's really 49.99 plus $10 rental fee for total of $59.99 for 12 months?

Reason I ask is I have $69.99 1gbs plan for the past 4 years. No rental fee. My 12 month contract just finished up from last year. I called and they gave said we can keep the $69.99 rate with no modem/router fee ongoing. No contract. We have spectrum also. $45 for 100mpbs or $65 for 400mpbs.

It's $69.99 no tax in florida for me. I think I'm happy with the $69.99 no rental fee no contract rate. I've had the same rate for almost 5 years.

What updates does the BGW320 have over the BGW210? I did a quick Google and didn't see anything that stands out.

It's not a contract, that's just how long you get the $59.99 price for.

I got this 1 Gbps service couple of months ago but never got 1 GBPS speed (I get max 400 at best on speedtest on my mobile)..when I reached out to technical support of AT&T they said you will never get 1 GBPs since you have multiple devices. what crap. I even asked the manager and he said the same thing. Can anyone even confirm if they really get 1 gbps speed on speedtest ?

I was earlier on 300 mbps plan before 1 gbps. That was fibre too so I am guessing the modem/router I got is compatible with 1 gbps.
U won't ever get 960 on WiFi. Those WiFi tests are done in labs in controlled situations. Max I ever get is around 580 on WiFi. But hook up to a hard wire Ethernet. My Alienware desktop with the lastest greatest gets 940/920 which is pretty close to max.

Yeah. I'd just keep my $69.99 no tax no rental no contract price. Don't have to haggle with them.

Thanks, good to know. I wonder if AT&T would provide a free or at least cheap upgrade for existing customers.

Just called to upgrade to gigabit from 100mbps and cited their current promo. Very painless and was on the phone for about 5 minutes while he processed everything. They will have a tech come out on Thursday.

$50/mo
