Yes, when I've purchased them at Walgreen's in the past, it's been 1 per purchase due to coupon limitations. But $1.99 was the price before the coupon. So this is just basically buying 3 at the typical sale price.

My local Walgreens flyer shows Ajax 40oz detergent for $0.99. Can't be worse than Purex.

The many many times I've purchased for a buck it's a one item limit. When they go on sale for 2 dollars that's when you can purchase multiples

I have heard enough weekend jokes and am in need or real discussion. So my funny friends...Please don't. Having said that:

Are these very allergenic to sensitive skin and people who need better? My wife seriously develops skin rash etc, whenever using any of the typical cheap chemical products, but never with Dove or likewise, PH regulated right ingredient ones. So what is the general experience with this product?

Yeah, $2 is typical deal price *before* coupon for this size. 99¢ is the price that frequently pops up after coupon, even though it's limited to 1 unit at that price. Note: the Clorox 2 and the Oxi+Zout varieties of Purex are always a little more per oz. than the regular Purex (such as in the link you've posted.)
