A very good deal for the price.

Pros:
14" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 300nits Anti-glare, 99% sRGB color gamut.
Quad Core intel i5 processor.

Cons:
  • 8GB Soldered DDR4-2666, so no upgradeability.
  • Integrated Intel UHD Graphics

Interestingly similar specs to X1 carbon with nearly half of the price.

This is sort of a repost of this post:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14098406-my-best-buy-members-lenovo-yoga-c740-14-i5-10210u-8gb-256gb-mica-599-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch
They did drop the price by $50 which was mentioned in that thread today. i wonder how long the $50 price drop will last. I know the student offer will end in about 3 days.

Where did you find these specs? I can't find where you found that USB-C is Power Delivery and Display port.

Is this not a better deal? Better battery life, more ram, better processor, looks cooler all for an extra $50.

I think biggest differentiator is the screen. This screen is much better than the flex's. If you want something light with good screen and build quality for normal to medium everyday tasks, this is a great buy. Think a student for school or some just editing Office documents, browsing the web and writing emails. If you need the horse power for things like video editing, gaming, etc, the Flex is a better bet (but anything color accurate needs to be done on an external monitor).

How does it look cooler? Do you mean it's because it is thicker, half a pound heavier, and has cheaper build quality?

$50 more expensive, 0.1inch thicker, 0.5lb heavier, -50 nits darker screen, plastic case vs aluminum case, 10h vs 13h battery life

Depending on what you want

Any way I can cram a Ryzen 4000 in here? Lol, this 99% sRGB screen has me wishing the specs were just a little beefier.
Not that they're not already very good for the price.
