Walmart.com has Dyson+V8+Animal+ Refurbished [walmart.com] for $189.99 with free ship to home. This is $10 cheaper than listed in the eBay Dyson store (same seller), and $110 savings vs. new price on Dyson.com, albeit without the new-purchase accessories.

$110 savings to drop 18 months of warranty and some cute tools was worth it to me.

V6-V8 require change of battery every 2 years vs V10 is good for 10 years per Dyson. Accounting for that cost, better to spend a bit more for the V10 IMO.

I got the v10 the other month. Came to find my vacuum head was defective and no attachments would connect. Annoying. Bought one directly from Dyson for $120 more.

You were unable to get customer service from Dyson?
They have Amazon level customer service.

Years ago I would never have guessed they'd be using a car engine to power my vacuum but I'm so glad they figured it out. A very very good deal. Lots of sucking power in this one.

I bought this same V8 refurb 2 years ago through their ebay store and could not be happier - its been used in my house about as heavily as these cordless vacuums can be used and hasn't missed a beat. There might be a quicker loss of charge from the battery, but not enough it warrants a replacement yet. Based on my experience I'd recommend, and this is a good price on the V8. I can't comment on if the newer V10 justifies the extra cost, but for me 200 is about the max I'd spend, so I'd by another one of these if I had to.

I would have to agree that without my warranty, I wouldn't still have a vacuum. I love my cordless Dyson, but I've also had to send it in twice (or should I say have parts shipped to me). Now it's worked for a very long time, but for $110, that's a big gamble. Just my thoughts.

When you attempt to make a return/refund to report the issue they only offer refund - never the ability to get the part itself which is what I had wanted. This might be because Wal*Mart is the seller? I dunno. Irritated me but I liked the unit itself so I paid for the new version on discount from Dyson directly.

Yes, Deanzoumas, it does. I currently use the DC33 and V8 and the V8 head(s) is fantastic. The bristle/soft fibers head can be removed and cleaned easily (or soaked overnight). I can't recommend this enough.

Bought one of these and took 2 months to get refund. Arrived late, damaged, dirty, scratched, dented.
