That is fraud. Best case is it's extremely unethical and will only cause HD to get even more strict and make it more difficult for regular people to return stuff. Please don't try this.
Essentially, yes. The last few times the battery starter kit has been the 3.0ah HP batteries vs these regular 4.0ah batteries. But, these 4.0ah are at least the higher end p197 batteries vs the older p108. Better internals/cells.
Yes, you can do this with just a circular saw and a drill. Few tips:
- Make sure you pre-drill your holes or else your wood will split when you put in your screws
- Cedar pickets are affordable and they're naturally good for outdoor applications
To all the Ryobi experts. I want to get into the Ryobi family. Would this be a good way to get in? Are there better deals I should wait on? Say a bundle for example
This is a great deal, especially for the batteries. Then as you need more you can actually get refurb tools from Direct Tools Warehouse, much cheaper. I been buying used or factory recon from there. No issues, most are like new condition.

I've noticed that they typically sweeten the deal as time goes by through adding extra tool options. I ended up getting 2 lights I have been looking for a discount on (the LED spot light went from $60 to $37, and the Workbench light went from $55 to $35 plus tax).
I had the tools sent directly to me and the batteries sent to the store for pickup.
I got in on the super 2 tool deals last year and filled out most of my tool collection with the brushless and I have been most impressed with them (brushless isn't really available in this sale, and the batteries they are offering this time the 4Ah, P197 can't take advantage of the brushless tech).
As for the tools they are offering right now that I have used:
Hybrid Bluetooth Radio (good once the tone is adjusted in the settings)
Glue Gun (fantastic and I would buy another in a heartbeat if I needed it, but I would pick a more expensive tool first if I needed it in the sale)
JobPlus Multitool (nice that it has interchangeable heads with the Rigid so that opens up some options plus the rigid head is quick change should that be something needed in the future. I think this is going to get a revamp based on what is available overseas at this point but timing is unknown)
Trim Router (A bit top heavy once the batteries get on there, but otherwise pretty good)
20W Hybrid light (very bright! Decent quality. Nice flexibility with the hybrid option)
Rotary tool (decent, but nothing amazing except being able to be mobile with it is pretty nice)
High pressure inflator (get the updated dual inflator if possible, the auto-shutoff is a nice feature on that one)
Sheet sander (nothing special but does the job)
LED basic flashlight (awesome! but don't buy it here, DIrect tools has refurbished units for about $8 at times. I have 5 at this point and just leave them all over the house)
Leaf Blower (My uncle got this refurb for ~$30 and really likes it)
Do they have a brushless drill Ryobi option for individual sale at HD? They have it in a combo (https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../305439006) but I don't see it listed individually at all. Kinda weird.
In for the hybrid light ($44, is $70 for factory blemished on DT). Had batteries shipped to store (June 30) so need to remember to check my CC for credit when I dont pick up.
Anyone have experience with the crown stapler?

The issue is that it's in store, but it won't let me get the battery and inflator when I check out. I get an error message. I still see the savings, though. I might try calling.
For someone who is only looking for an impact driver, is this better than the Amazon Bosch Drill / Driver combo deal?
The Bosch is 12v and much smaller. I have both and the Bosch's smaller size of the Bosch is great, especially when you want to get into smaller spaces or awkard angles. I used the Bosch recently to put up some triangular brackets for shelves and the Bosch fit in easily but the Ryobi impact driver had to work at an angle that caused the bit grind the screw head.
The Ryobi 18v impact driver will have more torque and these 4ah batteries will last a long time. I also think my Ryobi impact driver is quieter. I don't know if I got a particularly loud Bosch driver but it surprised me how loud it was. If I am in a tight space (under a sink, up close to a wall), the Bosch is so loud that I'll wear hearing protection.
If all you're looking for is an impact driver and either have or don't want the universe of stuff Ryobi offers, I would get the Bosch.
Hoping Ridgid does their Father's Day specials soon. Want the fan from them for $50 like last year. Rather have the fan with lifetime warranty than Ryobi with 3 year and 2 batteries. I know everyone's needs are different and if you need batteries this is a good deal. But if you're already in on Ridgid or have Ryobi batteries, I think Ridgid is the way to go IMO.
I've started a collection of Milwaukee m18 tools (including the $199 grinder with batteries today). I need a decent multi tool for home projects. Should I hold out for the Milwaukee to go on sale, or since this does come with 2 batteries, just go with the Ryobi? (These are for small home projects of someone who is just learning the difference between impact and hammer drills. Call me beginner level).

The blower available for free here doesn't appear to be as powerful as my model, but I would bet it would work just fine for grass clippings.

ETA: Oh, if I add them separately it works!
