It's not a new policy. All of their cooking lines have a lifetime warranty apart from their non-stick line. It's not realistic to expect the coating to last forever anyways.

I dont see any reason to spend $95 on a nonstick. It uses the same non-stick coating as every other non-stick pan. They're good for eggs and a small amount of other things. I use one maybe 1 meal a month and my $19 non-stick I got from Target is still totally functional after 3 years.

non-stick coating is consumable. if it flakes/etc due to defect, that's 1 thing; but otherwise, it's normal with use.

d7 --> c4 --> coppercore. with some exceptions ltd and mc2 can be better
d5 pans are overall best performance / $ ratio if RESPONSIVENESS id not your concern, such as cream based sauces, etc..

I've seen differing experiences with All-Clad warranties - some really good, some like your experience. I personally think the degradation of the non-stick coating does impact the performance of the pan which then warrants the replacement (because I'd buy a new pan when the old coating wears off...)

Man so tempted to get something but I've cooked 99% of my meals with cast iron over the past year and have been totally satisfied. I'm trying to justify buying one of these but just can't do it.

I have a D5 4-Qt Essential Pan and it is tremendous. It is fantastic for pasta dishes. I thought I might add the 6-Qt Essential at only $114 but unfortunately it comes in at $144 after the discount.
