Stranger Things, Season 1 Bluray Collector's Edition - $1.50 AC at Target B&M

This Target exclusive Collector's Edition of Stranger Things Season 1 on bluray has been posted in the past, but the price is now down to $3.00 at many Target stores. There is a 50% off coupon on Cartwheel that brings the price down to $1.50. Here is the Target.com link for reference -

Stranger Things Bluray Collector's Edition [target.com]

The online price is $10, but all the stores in my area are selling it for $3 at present -

Brickseek [brickseek.com]

My store in Merrifield, VA had 65 of these in stock and I could apply the Cartwheel coupon to four at time to bring the price down to $1.50 each. The coupon may be used for multiple purchases of four copies.

I've heard that Season 2 of Stranger Things on bluray is down to $1.50 in store and the 50% off coupon applies to it as well, bringing the price down to $0.75. However, there is no stock on Season 2 in my area.

I'm not sure when the Cartwheel coupon expires, but I think it has been extended at least once in an effort to clearance these items.

Edit: It looks like this qualifies for the B2G1 promotion that started today (6/14). This means that if you buy three copies, you'll get one for free ($3 for three copies).

Edit 2: I went to the large Target store in Falls Church, VA this afternoon and found that they had 75 copies of Season 1 in stock. The price was $3. The 50% off Cartwheel coupon still applies but the B2G1 promotion did not apply. The manager came over and gladly applied a $1.50 coupon to make the third item free (three copies for $3 plus tax). Check with the store manager if you buy three copies to get the third one for free under the B2G1 promotion.

Edit 3: I went to the Target store in Hybla Valley and found several copies of Season 2 in stock for $5.08. Unfortunately the 50% off coupon and the B2G1 promotions did not apply at the register, but the manager came over and applied the B2G1 promotion manually (she wouldn't allow both promotions). Reading the details on the 50% off coupon, it does not include the SKU for Season 2. However, on the Target website, Season 2 is included in the B2G1 promotion, so they should be willing to apply that promotion if you find it in stock. Many stores in my area are showing Season 2 for $1.48, but they do not have it in stock.

Hopefully this is proof of how poorly received the show actually is. I don't know how people can watch "tv shows" at all, they're so poorly acted and the writing even in what's supposed to be the "golden age of television" is so poor compared to older series from the 90s and earlier

I think you must not have watched any of this show...

Have you watched the show? It has not been poorly received. Rotten Tomatoes has scores of 91% audience and 93% critics. Season 1 has 97%.

I think the poor sales and excellent deals have to do with the fact you can watch this on Netflix as long as you have a subscription, so most people don't want to buy it as physical media. The same is true of sales on all types of Disney physical media, since you can watch most shows and movies on Disney+.

Season 3 of Stranger Things was only the most streamed show on Netflix.

What shows were so much better in the 90s and earlier? I think you need to remove your rose tinted glasses.

Heard this edition is okay as a Bluray, no 4K release unfortunately at Target. Bad reviews exist though by having the season 2 trailer always play Everytime you boot the disc.

why bother getting this version if the 4K costs $5-$10 more on Amazon?

Lol. Troll or being sarcastic? TV had never been better and acting and writing is much better than anything from the 90s and earlier. Stranger Things is one of the most popular shows going, so how can you say it was poorly received? And any of the kids in this show can far out act any TV acting from the 90s and earlier. It's just that people aren't going to buy a physical copy when they can just watch it on Netflix. I've come close to buying these because of the cool box design, but felt there was no reason to do so. I get having a physical version for those who wanted to watch it that didn't have Netflix, but they produced way too many of these.
