Unless they fixed something, the H9F was 120hz content (like for movie viewing? I'm not sure), but that "content" did not include gaming. Very confusing and misleading of them but at least for gaming it only ran at 60hz. It's entirely possible this H9G is the same way.

RTings says in their H9F review: "Update 08/16/2019: We rechecked the H9F, and it is possible to send a 120Hz signal, but it simply skips every other frame. We confirmed this from an Xbox One S and a a PC. This TV supports most of the common input formats, but only at 60Hz. Despite the 120Hz panel, it can't display any 120Hz signal".

No it has HDMI 2.0b I believe. There's no HDMI 2.1.

Why are people talking about buying an imaginary $1500 TV instead? Even if you could buy an OLED at that price (you can't get a 65" at that price unless it's used) that is still $600 more than this deal right now. You could probably literally buy this H9G and a Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X for that same (imaginary) price.

This H9G will (should) be in competition with the TCL 6 series which we have next to no info on still. Not any OLED TV's that are literally twice the price of this right now. So if you can wait, then do it and then decide if you want this set or the TCL. If you're looking for a deal right now though, this is it.

This is a great deal. I managed to snag one from Amazon for this price but they only had one in stock. It seems like Amazon and Best Buy are the only retailers so far to have this set at all.

For anyone who doesn't know, this TV is the follow up to last years Hisense H9F, which got a lot of amazing reviews (https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/h9f and https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/hisense-65h9f for example). That model also sold out and is near impossible to find for anywhere near this price. So I'd jump on this sucker while you can. I imagine it's only competition for a TV this low of a price in 2020 will be the TCL 6 series, which afaik still has no release date/pricing/specs etc available.

I really wish TCL would put out the info to make the decision between this H9G and the TCL a bit of an easier choice because by the time they release that TV, this one will probably be sold out.

That's not why the TCL struggles with motion. Motion was better on the R617/615.

Plus the H9F didn't even have a real 120hz screen to begin with. It doesn't even output 120hz, only accepts a 120hz input.

this deal is stupid as heck. frankly speaking the tech inside the TV is old, and they put bright colors on the display pic/demo to make it seem like you're getting something good and new. NOT TRUE!!!! Maybe better than a 10 year old LCD, but after 2012 the LCD quality hasn't improved much.

I currently own this TV and it is amazing. I tested the movie 1917 in HDR and during the night scene where he is running through the town that is on fire looks absolutely gorgeous. The blacks are deep blacks while the fire is bright as can be. No blooming effects at all that I could see. Tested many other HDR movies and was blown away compared to my old Samsung KU629 that crapped out on me after 2.5 years(won't be buying Samsung for a long time). This TV is very bright, especially at night time. 1000+ Nits and 180 local dimming zones. This TV only has HDMI 2.0 so if you're buying the next-gen consoles, this won't be for you as HDMI 2.1 will be more beneficial.
PC input is limited to 60Hz with full dynamic range, but native TV apps, which Android OS seems very smooth with no lag when going through the menus, run in 120Hz. Have not tried consoles as I do not own one, PC's are better. Smilie
Just wanted to point out that the amount of ignorance and spread of misinformation about this TV is astounding. If you don't know what you're talking about or have never seen this TV in person, why do you even bother coming here to comment? Unless you're getting paid to type out fake reviews, you should really re-think your life. And if you are getting paid to write fake reviews, again, re-think your life. You know who you are.

anyone experiencing slow internet speed via lan and wifi? im getting less than 100mbps on both lan and wifi while on the same lan connection with nvidia shield im getting 700mbps and 300 wifi. i had h8g prior and it was the same but a bit better on wifi.

I was going to plug that chearp Hisense 58" R6E but it just failed about every Xbox One X HDR test. You get what you pay for, for $300 it's still worth it for general use. I'll HDR game on my TCL 6

Same thing happened to me way back in the day (2007?) when micro center had a black Friday sell on Olivia brand 1080p TV's 42/37/32 inch models. My power supply died in one day. Rolled the dice on an exchange and the replacement just won't die on me 13 years later. Pretty good picture great viewing angles. Hisence / TCL or pull out the coin for a Sony 900H when that day comes.
