Best Buy has 65" Hisense 65H9G H9 Quantum Series 4K UHD HDR Android Smart TV on sale for $899.99. Shipping is free or select free store pickup where available. Thanks delz4stelz
Unless they fixed something, the H9F was 120hz content (like for movie viewing? I'm not sure), but that "content" did not include gaming. Very confusing and misleading of them but at least for gaming it only ran at 60hz. It's entirely possible this H9G is the same way.
RTings says in their H9F review: "Update 08/16/2019: We rechecked the H9F, and it is possible to send a 120Hz signal, but it simply skips every other frame. We confirmed this from an Xbox One S and a a PC. This TV supports most of the common input formats, but only at 60Hz. Despite the 120Hz panel, it can't display any 120Hz signal".
and also:
"It has outstanding low input lag, and it supports most of the common input formats, but only at 60Hz, despite the 120Hz panel".
No it has HDMI 2.0b I believe. There's no HDMI 2.1.
Why are people talking about buying an imaginary $1500 TV instead? Even if you could buy an OLED at that price (you can't get a 65" at that price unless it's used) that is still $600 more than this deal right now. You could probably literally buy this H9G and a Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X for that same (imaginary) price.
This H9G will (should) be in competition with the TCL 6 series which we have next to no info on still. Not any OLED TV's that are literally twice the price of this right now. So if you can wait, then do it and then decide if you want this set or the TCL. If you're looking for a deal right now though, this is it.
This is a great deal. I managed to snag one from Amazon for this price but they only had one in stock. It seems like Amazon and Best Buy are the only retailers so far to have this set at all.
For anyone who doesn't know, this TV is the follow up to last years Hisense H9F, which got a lot of amazing reviews (https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/h9f and https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/hisense-65h9f for example). That model also sold out and is near impossible to find for anywhere near this price. So I'd jump on this sucker while you can. I imagine it's only competition for a TV this low of a price in 2020 will be the TCL 6 series, which afaik still has no release date/pricing/specs etc available.
I really wish TCL would put out the info to make the decision between this H9G and the TCL a bit of an easier choice because by the time they release that TV, this one will probably be sold out.
Does any recall if the H9F was sold at costco? Been searching but cannot find the answer. Hope they carry the H9G.
Costco has never sold this TV. I've seen the TCL 613 in store and they a lower end Hisense. They had the H8F online too. It seems they are only selling the previous year's models vs the newest ones.

Thank you. I guess I i'll have to wait for best buy to release the 55" version
This set is confirmed to have Bluetooth 5.0 in case anyone was wondering. From the Amazon question and answers on the differences between last years H9F and this H9G a rep said: "The H9G has more full array local dimming zones, supports HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, has far-field voice recognition, Bluetooth 5.0, improved uniformity among other upgrades".
so the discussion is wait to compare the new tcl v hisense or just get what is out. Assuming you want this price range.
I don't know about the TCL, but the new Vizio's should launch or have launch dates and pricing clarified by the 30th. I think anyone who buys an H9 now based on the hype isn't really thinking things through. All these companies generally end up using the same panels and have similar performance anyway, you might as well wait and see what the competitor's are pricing theirs at. After all, Vizio is promising HDMI 2.1 and traditionally hasn't been much more expensive than TCL or Hisense. I think we'll have a clearer picture on what the best bang for your buck is going to be here in a week or two.
To the naked eye it doesn't look any less bright than the Vizio PQX.
Motion better than the PX and my 2019 TCL 6 series.
The color is fantastic.
The blacks are very black, contrast seems better than the Vizio.
Still not a fan of Android TV. Sticking with the 2nd gen Fire Cube.
480p upscale looks great.
While I agree quantum on youtube is a joke, I don't think hes far off on this TV.
Thanks! Be interesting to see what TCL brings to the table in 2020. The 2019 model was a pretty big disappointment as it was barely an upgrade over the 2018 model.
Someone asked earlier but the answer was never posted. Anyone know the dimensions on box? My Pathfinder probably won't cut it so I might have to use taskrabbit, which is bad idea the more I think about it. Or secure it to the roof for the 10mi, mostly freeway drive.

Edit: If Amazon does get any more in stock, this is the link for it. It should also be $900 there if they get any more: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087FDSRV9

Does TCL have a version out that is the same model year as the Hisense right now?
