Compared to Lorex or QSee, Swann is much more polished.

I am close to buying a new house, and this would be a great new addition if I lock down the new house, but on the fence so I dont keep spending on things I dont need till I get the house. 8 4K cameras and 2 TB Drive, this is really hard to beat.

Isnt the price difference from standard wired connectors to POE for this type of 4K unit almost a $400-500+ difference? Not really worth the cost difference to just gain the advantage of one cable over two for easier install. What other future proofing you talking about, the standard cables performance wise work just as well if not better for pushing data streams?
There's a lot more going on for a $400-500 price difference than just the connectors.
Better performing cameras typically, "smarter" cameras, ...
Also, the time and effort running the cabling should be taken into account.
If you want to go with a DVR kit then I would recommending using quality cat6 cable and baluns so you can easily upgrade the kit in the future with an IP PoE setup if you so like.
( easier / cheaper to do this route than using IP PoE on coax... )
What's POE?
