"It gets blasted with UV-C light, which kills up to 99.99% of the bacteria living on your phone. Mia Lieberman, a clinical veterinarian at Harvard Medical School, found the PhoneSoap to be effective against bacteria, she noted that eliminating COVID-19 would likely require a much larger UV-C dose, based on the data scientists have on other coronaviruses such as SARS."

Save your money and buy alcohol wipes or disinfectant wipes. UV-C based sanitization is basically useless. It comes back again and again for some reason.

UV sanitation is not a bulletproof solution, but it does work if implemented right. Any higher end air cleaner use UV light with filters. Fish tank owners use UV water sterilization. Of course Chinese cheap moms and pops gadgets will do nothing, but look at commercial units, they are in demand for reason.

For cleaning surface, it's proven ineffective by itself. Any layer of dirt or grime blocks UV light from killing bacteria and germs.

Of course, UV sanitization can be useful in some situations. But for consumer-level, surface cleaning, it's a complete waste of money.

UV is used for hospital rooms in addition to other cleaning methods. This isn't just junk science.

Anyone know what the changes are between this model Basic l500-2 and the Phonesoap 4 500-2 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/phon...Id=6423342 besides being twice the price. Dimensions look to be the same. I wonder if it is just something like the usb charging rate for the phone?
