I had this saw and thought it was underpowered, at least for my needs. Most saws in this category have a 6.5" blade and the blade on the left. It seems like they were trying to make it more like a traditional sidewinder saw since it's blade-right and 7.25". Not a bad idea, but it bogged fairly easily compared to the dewalt 6.5" saw I have now.

Yea, you probably need the Octane battery to get the power out of this saw, however, the package still comes with a regular battery. WIth a regular battery, it probably has the same power as the non-brushless saw.
