Type in "Daiwa Samurai" into the search box. They are regularly on sale at Dick's. For the adults get two Daiwa Samurais. They often have a deal for 2 for $30. Here's a pink one on sale: https://www.dickssportinggoods.co...451:320230
Here's a little heavier duty blue one: https://www.dickssportinggoods.co...5ft62pccom

For the kids, get the bigger one a Ugly Stik Dock Runner from Walmart for $15. It's a spinning rod. Watch some youtube to understand buying a first fishing pole. I have 30 or so rods and I still love my Dock Runner. It is perfect for a beginner, but good enough for a avid fisher.

For the 5 year old who may lack coordination, get a Dock Demon spincaster from Walmart for $10. It has a push button to cast.

Disregard the online price. Go to the store. All of these rods are durable. The smaller ones are ridiculously durable. The adult ones are two piece so that all of them could fit in any trunk.
Zebco 33 is hard to beat for beginners
At this price point, personally I think I'd go with the frequent deals on the Daiwa Samurai over this

The Samurais are GREAT rods. They feel really good. The reels are so so but they do the job.

Good older kid starter pole. For the little ones stick with the push button spincast reels unless you like untangling line.

This one does not have a line on and putting it on is half the pain especially for a beginner.

Quickcast looks like an unnecessary gimmick to me. Learning to feel the line tension on your finger is part of the art of developing an accurate cast with a spinning reel

Are these good enough for pier fishing?

We usually catch trout and snappers probably under 15 pounds...
