Greetings,
I was shopping for a gaming laptop and stumbled across this deal. This is hands down the BEST price I could find on a 2070 equipped laptop.
This model is an add to cart so you CANNOT customize it.
HIGHLIGHTS
i
7 10750H
RTX 2070 (usually a $600-$800 option)
144hz IPS screen (decent color accuracy according to 2019 reviews)
$1299.99 marked down from $1349.99
it does have a 2.5in drive bay
DOWNSIDE
Battery life is lower for this tier
keyboard had solid red backlight (no option to change it)
smaller 256gb SSD/ 8gb RAM config
2019 design (new models are out)
Even with those short-commings those are easily upgraded later for a reasonable price and the base machine should be a monster.
HP seems to be having some kind of general sale. Many manufacturers are in fact, maybe for fathers day??? I did not see an end date. Finding this very laptop took a TON of time, and it has an unusual SKU compared to others I saw on the site. Please note this is a 15" notebook not the 17" laptop
This is my first post so I may be missing typical info, please forgive any noob moves.
Regards,
combatCAT

I am seeing mostly negative comments and just wanted to address a couple things.
1-Here is a review I used to rate the machine overall
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1ja4-KTydw it is not the exact model but it is for the 2020 version.
2-Inventory is low right now due to manufacture process issues, so this happens to be one of the few deals currently in stock.
3-Thought I was pretty clear but this machine is not perfect, it IS a decent deal for under $1500. Upgrades are recommended down the line, but seems like a solid starting point.

Overall, not a bad deal for a 2070Max-Q in today's market but will need that other stick of RAM and SSD for best performance.

Not sure why HP removed vents as part of their upgrade to streamline the Omen design. Unfortunate.
I am interested in the MSI raider deal tho...

Well there goes the theory that Intel forced manufacturers to make inferior cooling on AMD-based notebooks
