FYI I purchased this chair before it went on sale and returned it the next day. It's sturdy and mostly good quality with great adjustments. But if you really need lumbar support and/or want manual tension control and a good recline angle...you may be disappointed.

The "mesh" tension lumbar support is non-existent and really didn't promote a good posture, the backrest actually pivots slightly when you lean back on it (some may like it or want that but I personally don't) and the chair automatically adjusts tilt tension based on user's weight. Guess my fat ass of 186 lbs made the tension really light when reclining which I also don't like. I prefer a more firm/strong tension when I recline in the chair.

This is one user's experience with this particular chair and just my $0.02. After that I went and purchased a used but in great condition Steelcase Leap V2 and Haworth Zody chairs for a combined cost of $220. Couldn't be happier though I think I prefer the Leap and may eventually keep that one for good.

Bought a black Relate, used 13240 for 20 off and came out to be $251.84 to CA. Was looking for a better chair that wasn't bonded leather flaky trash.. hopefully this is comfrotable. I was also looking at the other SD chair (WorkPro 12000) but decied to try this one out.

Question for someone who might have this chair already.. what's the material for the padding/seat? is it cloth?

I just bought the Relate in all black for $249.10 after tax (the -$20 coupon someone else posted basically cancelled out the tax). Supposed to arrive Monday.

Reviews for Allsteel chairs seem to be pretty sparse, but everything I saw was positive and that they're well made.

If anyone has a $25 off coupon, it stacks with the $20 off mentioned before. That brought it down to about $220. My current chair has been killing me, so it'll be nice to upgrade to something that might actually last for a while!

My company replaced some herman miller chairs with allsteel ones, so I would say they should be pretty close. Forgot the exact models, but I feel they are equally comfortable.

For what it's worth I probably would have gotten this deal had I not bought a used herman miller aeron a couple months ago. The Aeron is awesome and i have no issues with it but there was definitely some sweaty ass dude sitting in this chair before I bought it. The Steelcase is new and damn near as comfy. I cleaned the shit out of my chair after i picked it up but I'd still prefer something new.
