FYI I purchased this chair before it went on sale and returned it the next day. It's sturdy and mostly good quality with great adjustments. But if you really need lumbar support and/or want manual tension control and a good recline angle...you may be disappointed.

The "mesh" tension lumbar support is non-existent and really didn't promote a good posture, the backrest actually pivots slightly when you lean back on it (some may like it or want that but I personally don't) and the chair automatically adjusts tilt tension based on user's weight. Guess my fat ass of 186 lbs made the tension really light when reclining which I also don't like. I prefer a more firm/strong tension when I recline in the chair.

This is one user's experience with this particular chair and just my $0.02. After that I went and purchased a used but in great condition Steelcase Leap V2 and Haworth Zody chairs for a combined cost of $220. Couldn't be happier though I think I prefer the Leap and may eventually keep that one for good.

yea seems suspicious to me and detering me from buying it. there are many other chairs out there for $250 so idk why these chairs are much better

Yeah. I'm suspicious that I only see staples and Walmart selling it. However, I did not check the reputation of the users on here who are backing this chair (no offense), that will be my next step if I choose to proceed. I'm concerned with the color.

Folks these are the sorts of chairs that run 400+ direct from all steel to we in facilities when we agree to buy 1000 or more in contracts. I haven't checked exactly but they appear to be. Might be an older model but anything from the big 5-6 manufacturers available at this price at retail is nuts! I just bought a basic staples branded for 100 that I know will last until my kids go off to college damn I woulda bought one of these for sure. And I just put the damn thing together last night! and yes the $800 list is always bullshit. ahem.. my bad the bullshit list price on allsteel website is $1400. that's more like it. run do not walk to buy these. these are pure Allsteel don't pay attention to the AsAp. must be quick ship marketing ploy. this price is probably COST for ALLSTEEL. get em while the getting is good!

Alsteel is part of HNI (HON) and chairs are made in Iowa. They're a great company. The chairs are highly regarded and even people from their hometown love them and pay a premium. I always look for discounts or used ones from there but it's rare.

hello folks, any opinions on the recent hyken/dexley chairs compared to this? esp if they're the same price.

this seems like a no brainer considering the markdown but I'm iffy or rather kinda curious why staples would do something like this. closeout inventory? overstock? new model incoming so deep dealer/manufacture discount?

in any case, in the market for a mesh ergo chair the last month or so. staples has been popping up quite a bit. maybe its just current market conditions that are forcing retailers hands. but would appreciate some input & insights into this chair since idk much about it. I have heard the name allsteel before or maybe I'm confusing it with something similar like steelcase.

Anyone with one of these chairs know how cushioned they are? Or have a butt cushion they love? I have a cheapish chair from Staples and have been through a bunch of cushions but they all flatten out in a few months.
