For comparisons sake, I own 5 cameras myself. Picked up a 2 camera system with a 'Free' add on camera for $349 and paid $109 each for my add on cameras.
Never seen the add on cameras this low before @ 89 bucks.

- I understand this system has 16GB EMMC and a USB port. It has no microSD slot so a high endurance microSD card cannot be used. To expand storage, it would require using a USB flash drive, right? Are there such things as high endurance flash drives? Or can another option be to use a high endurance microSD card with a USB adapter?
- Is there anyway to access recordings without using the Eufy mobile app? I would hope so since the recordings are local. But it seems the recordings are encrypted so that they cannot even be played off a USB flash drive that they're recorded to. It seems in order to access recordings, the app needs to be used and Eufy's servers (that are located in China) need to be up. If Eufy's servers are down, it seems recordings cannot be accessed. But if their servers are down, would the system even still record as normal?
- If Eufy shuts down their servers (or China makes them do so), then is this system useless and just a paperweight?
- Does this system require internet access to work? I'm not sure if internet access is required to record, but it seems it's required to access recordings, which effectively means it requires internet access period.

***I suspect you could use an external usb drive. Suspect a high endurance flash drive would be overkill as the cameras do not constantly record. Only record when triggered.

***Not to my knowledge. I haven't moved over to Homekit Secure Video yet but I suspect you can access recording there just by the nature of HSV being a more secure way to store your recordings in the cloud for 'free'.
If Eufy's servers are down, it seems recordings cannot be accessed. But if their servers are down, would the system even still record as normal?
***This doesn't make sense to me as the recordings are done on the homebase. The only thing I can think of is you may not be able to access recordings if you are away and not on your home network.
- If Eufy shuts down their servers (or China makes them do so), then is this system useless and just a paperweight?
***As above...doesn't make sense to me.

***Fair question but I don't honestly know. Never tried to kill the internet and check the recording while on my home network. Again, I suspect as long as you are in your home network the internet shouldn't matter save for getting auto-magic updates. Could be dead wrong though.

Also, here's a thread where some people reported not having internet access causes issues with not being able to record. So it seems someone could just disable the system by cutting off the wire for one's internet access.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I was not aware of this.
