He's talking about the quality of the screen rather than the specs. I have the g5 and the screen is very dark with bad contrast and even worse viewing angle. But I'm not too picky with my screen so it's fine for me.

You can actually buy a replacement screen on eBay and try to upgrade the screen yourself for maybe around 100.

My graphics card fan actually started dying, but luckily it happened right around the 11 month mark and I was able to get Dell to fix it within the warranty with no issue. So at least their customer service is good but doesn't say much about the quality of the fans though.

1080p 60fps is fine. For a gaming laptop, this is a good deal.

If you want a work horse build a PC and choose the monitors.

How this compares to the FP deal from Micro Center weeks ago, for $500?

https://slickdeals.net/f/14106770-acer-nitro-5-laptop-intel-core-i5-9300h-15-6-1080p-ips-8gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-gtx-1650-win-10-499-99-free-store-pickup-micro-center

Amex offers $120 cash back for Dell.com, which may make this Dell G3 laptop to ~$546.

This is better. Only $46 more for Ti card. You can always add more memory and a bigger HD, but not the video card.

Unfortunately not offered on my Amex Blue Cash Preferred. Lucky you.

The 1080p screen comment is inevitable, but if you're going to make that comment can you let us know how often you game on the laptop screen versus separate monitors? It seems like not that big of a deal if you consider that you'll be hooked up to monitors most of the time.

Gaming laptops are such a crapshoot. That's why I've stopped buying them.

It hasn't bit me yet, but every time feels like Russian roulette.

You could save money getting a laptop with a plain 1650, or spend a little more for one with a 1660ti. So this is a weird deal.

Not a great deal considering what's been available recently with a 1650. Granted this has a 1650ti, but you could get a 1660ti for close to this price recently.
You can upgrade to a 1660ti on the G5 for $78. Worth the extra if you ask me...Plus you get Thunderbolt with the 1660ti. Is the $100 for the upgrade to the i7 processor worth it?

It would be a hot deal if the 15% coupon works. Tried it but no good. Has anyone tried Dell chat if they would override it to make coupon work?
